The study was also asked to determine the prevalence of depression among different gender.

Depression may be prevalent among women that it is among men because women have fewer coping resources, expedites greater anxiety, and have lower perceived control as compared to men. Biostatics can help inform decision making around the topic. For example, the biostatistician can calculate sensitivity, specificity and predictive values as well as the likelihood ratios. The result would be useful in making a decision on the right kind of modifiable factors to target. Developing the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves would also help in improving the diagnostic ability of a gender binary classifier system
