Introduction

This book has presented different mythic symbols that can help us have a modern understanding of the universe effectively. Elaborating such aspects is of significance since numbers cannot clearly outline scientific cosmology. Additionally, it cannot be explained in an ordinary language that we are all versed with. Conventionally, most of the pictures which expand into the universe can only be symbolic since there is no way a universe can be viewed directly. The authors in the book have presented different symbols that best exemplify new pictures of the cosmos. The paper outlines the newly created symbols by the authors to exemplify a new picture of the universe. The paper will also discuss the symbols that I would create to give meaning to our new emerging understanding of cosmology. Lastly, the essay will analyze the spiritual and scientific cosmology that works best for the future.

Cosmic Spheres

One of the symbols that exemplify a new picture of the cosmos is the cosmic spheres of time. This symbol is of significance since it analyses how the different galaxies were formed. In this symbolic presentation, light began its journey towards us upon the sun's formation and the moon (Primark and Abrams, 135). From a large scale analysis, the universe often looked more of the same than it is now. The presented galaxies in the spheres, however, helps in clearly outlining how the universe looks like. The cosmic spheres also indicate that the galaxies have significantly evolved (Primark and Ellen, 135). The ancient galaxies often used to be irregularly shaped but very bright. This was primarily attributed to the fact that they were forming stars rapidly. After the bright galaxies form, there were no other visible galaxies for almost 10 million years. The absence of other galaxies was because the universe was experiencing the Dark Age (Primark and Abrams, 135). The cosmic spheres are the best symbols that symbolize the universe because it highlights the various changes that the cosmos has undergone over time. The heavenly spheres also help present how the universe was perceived before its evolution. Each sphere represents the earlier spot of evolution. When moves away from the spheres, they are also taken back in time and how the universe was depicted (Primark and Ellen, 134)

Bubbles and Milky Way

Another symbol that has been created by the author in describing the view of the universe are the bubbles. According to the authors, bubbles are small symbols that can be used in describing the big bang that resulted in the development of the universe, an aspect that is commonly known as eternal inflation (Primark and Abrams, 191). After the Big bang, it resulted in the creation of the regions in which we inhabit. Our universe can be described as a region inside a meta-universe. It comprises one of the tiny pockets that highlights where inflation stopped (Primark and Ellen, 191). The use of bubbles can only describe the tiny pocket like aspects; thus, the author has used the bubbles to differentiate between three different aspects, including our bubble, our cosmic horizon, and another bubble.

One of the symbols that I would have created to give way to our newly emerging understanding of the cosmos is the Milky Way. The Milky Way symbol would constitute the solar system that describes the galaxies' appearance in the universe. A milky way comprises of a barred spiral galaxy and is estimated to have approximately 400 million stars. Since the Milky Way is believed to have a wide range of galaxies, clearly explaining it in a symbolic form would help people better understand our newly emerging cosmos.

Conclusion

Scientific cosmology refers to a branch of astrophysics involved in the study of the origin and nature of the universe through the development of theories and later testing them against observational evidence with the primary aim of supporting them or rule them out (Primark and Abrams, 16). The spiritual/ scientific cosmology that works best for the future is that the universe will continue evolving or expanding forever. As it expands, it will continue cooling hence becoming challenging to sustain human life.
