I have always been interested in the medical profession. It has always been my passion to become a medical technologist. I love saving lives, and a diploma in medical technology will make better equipped in improving the quality of care of health care systems in my career area. I will also be better equipped in helping save the lives of individuals living with a wide range of conditions. I like the detail and want to work in a medical setting and know there are jobs available that pay a living wage.

My life as a single parent has inspired and encouraged me to continue my education so that I can give a meaningful and wholehearted contribution to the field of medicine and the life of my children as well. Therefore, I began to seek out the place in which the values and mission is a place in which I can grow as an individual and gain the experience in which I will need to accomplish the training and education needed. I came across a billboard advertising the scholarship, and since I was already interested, I came to an open house, talked to instructors, and this is where I learned that the school produces highly skilled graduates in the field of Medical Technology and thought of giving it a try.

Attending County Community College will greatly help me in pursuing my career of choice. The two-year Med Tech program will provide education, training, and the necessary skills that are required in the field of medical technology, along with a diploma to allow me to qualify for the position of a medical technologist as well as get a job in the Med Tech field.

I am a single parent, and currently, I have two part-time jobs. My salary goes towards catering for my living expenses which include rent, utilities, childcare, and insurance. Thus, I am not able to save enough money to take me through college. With a scholarship, I will be qualified for a full-time job, and the salary will be enough for my family's upkeep, which will, in turn, give me a little more time with my children. In addition, my desire to excel in medical technology and consequently efficiently integrate the knowledge to the real-world experience, among the diverse communities makes me convinced that the County Community College is my future sharpening institution.

I have always hoped to have a career, but I have not been able to take time to go back to school. Now that I have the chance, I will strive and work towards attaining my diploma for I know what it means to hold one. My friends have really encouraged me to apply for the scholarship, and I am surprised at how helpful everyone around me has been in my endeavor to become a medical technologist through the County Community College scholarship program. I firmly believe that with a diploma in medical technology I will be in a position to better my life and that of my children. I seek an opportunity to pursue my passion at the County Community College.
