First reason is the executive function deficit, particularly for those students with ADHD and LD; they have learning difficulties, therefore not having a planful strategic manner of approaching academic tasks. The second reason is that some teachers lack a clear understanding and are ill equipped to provide study skills like some middle school teachers within their classroom.

When they teach students to use an instructional strategy, teachers need to make sure to address maintenance and generalization. Describe the importance of each.

Maintenance: It makes sure student skills are retained over time, and it never fades of all prompts even beyond the teaching of a teacher.

Generalization: It creates independence for students and the likelihood of success from a learner because they do not need to rely on assistance from one setting, such as a particular teacher.

This is because educators see these components as time-consuming and tend to be in pressure for time. Teachers try to keep up with rushing and demand for district standards and the common core in their lessons.
