Introduction

The HR initiatives and improvement strategies presented by SPIC have to cut across the technical competency of the employees, the organization, and the workplace for them to be effective and foster wholesome organizational growth and development.

To support the people technical competencies and enhance their practice of continuous learning, SPIC can implement HR initiatives that include encouraging the employees to embrace the proposed technology and analytics, learning how to use them to understand their application in driving growth in the company, reskilling and upskilling (Miligan, 2018). However, to achieve this, the employees have to develop some behavioral competencies within the business domain. These include exercising the freedom to be creative within the workplace to encourage their use and application of technologies that enhance their output at the workplace

SPIC can enhance its technical competency by encouraging knowledge sharing, enhancing talent and people leadership among the employees. SPIC can also offer enviable benefits packages on technological advancements, and continuous staff training and development ("Poppulo," 2018). The most appropriate behavioral competencies within the leadership domain that the employees need to develop include their ability to understand how the SPIC succeeds, updating their skill set, and being ready or blending with a new workforce that would foster organizational growth through technological advancements.

To enhance technical competency within the workplace, SPIC should implement HR initiatives that stay focused on the people, i.e., aim at enhancing the company's performance by accounting for each person's contribution. This is evident from the company's strategy that incorporates the employee's health & safety, and their well-being in a bid to enhance their performance ("Business Wire India," 2019). SPIC's alignment between the perceived and offered well-being initiatives (WBIs) would aid in the employees' understanding of the WBI offers provided by the employers and the entire business strategy (Ungereanu et al., 2019). The HR strategy should revolve around identifying, unifying and motivating employees to establish a strategic plan within their understanding. The company should establish a modern benefits package and be aware of or implement any required compliance issues (Milligan, 2018). The most appropriate behavioral competencies that enhance within the interpersonal domain include the ability of the existing staff to work together with the new workforce to enhance technical advancement at the workplace, participating in health and safety training and demonstrations, establishing proper work-life balances, and ensuring continuous upgrading of the employees.

Recommendations

Some of the human resource initiatives that I would recommend for SPIC include:

Continuous staff development and training. This strategy would work appropriately for the company as it would enhance both skills and technical growth among the employees which would transform to an overall growth in the company. The strategy incorporates a combination of multiple behavioral competencies among the employees such as their ability to embrace technology and analytics, understand how SPIC succeeds, and updating their skill set.

Providing employees with the freedom to be creative. This strategy would enable SPIC's employees to be free to come up with technologies that would help to improve business operations. The strategy would incorporate the use of both behavioral competencies in business and leadership domains, i.e., application of technologies at the workplace and updating their technological and blending with new workforces that are technologically savvy.

Providing enviable benefits and packages to its employees. This strategy will incorporate a combination of behavioral competencies in business and interpersonal domains as employees would tend to enhance the competencies in the domains to reap from the benefits and packages. These include advancements in their use of technology in handling business issues and their participation in various health and safety trainings among other pieces of training required in the organization.
