As the famous saying goes, Health is Wealth, according to physics and medics, exercise is known to have numerous benefits not only to the physical being but also to the emotional. Ranging from losing weight to healthy living, numerous studies have found that physical exercise substantially improves the health of an individual, while at the same time, helping in the reduction of the risks of developing a vast range of diseases and illnesses. This research paper, therefore, seeks to substantiate why exercising at least once in a day would benefit the body as well as keeping it healthy.
Firstly, healthcare professionals contend that exercising gives a deep meaning to our lives, with reference to the related health benefits that come with it. While many people tend to overlook exercise, there seems to be a broad range of agreement in research done by scholars from various disciplines, regarding the health benefits of exercise to our health. Mostly, physical or aerobic exercise is considered as the most efficient and most beneficial form of exercise. By definition, aerobic exercise is that particular form of exercise that involves a rhythmic and continuous physical motion. Usually, when an individual engages in this kind of exercise, especially on a daily basis, he or she trains their body to become efficient and also use less energy while performing a similar amount of work. This, in essence, helps in maintaining the heart and breathing rates, which in turn significantly improves the bodys health conditions (Whelton, 2013).
Besides, research has it that exercising, which is most efficient when done at least once in a day, is widely recognized as a means of primary prevention of various types of diseases. Owing to the fact that a disease free body is a healthy body, engaging in physical exercise, brings about beneficial effects on both the physical health and a persons wellbeing. Recent literature on the benefits of physical exercise contends that the prevalence of a majority of the chronic diseases in the world today is attributed to a significant lack of physical exercise. Usually, our bodies are meant to move, and they also crave physical exercise. For this reason, working out at least once in a day is always essential for the prevention of various chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, among others.
A 2014 report by the Mayo Clinic highlights that physical exercise, especially when done early in the morning offers numerous benefits not only to the body but also to an individuals psychology, regarding their daily schedules. Scholars and physics advice that with a morning physical exercise, the body is charged to enhance metabolism. In this regard, the body goes through the Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC) which means that the body is usually in a position to burn more calories after the morning exercise (Mayo Clinic, 2014). Therefore, the body yields the best results after the exercise, in the sense that, throughout the day, even when the body is resting or engaged in mild physical exercise, it can burn a large amount of calories. This, in essence, helps in keeping the body healthy and also free of diseases.
Routine exercise can also help prevent excess weight gain and also substantially enhance weight loss. According to health statistics, in America today, many people, of all ages, suffer obesity or overweighted. With these conditions, the body is put at the risks of suffering diseases such as heart attacks, diabetes, and heart failure. Nevertheless, experts recommend that through regular physical exercise, precisely moderate exercise for about 30 minutes a day, one is able to lose a considerable amount of weight which essentially reduces the risks of suffering heavy weight related diseases. Additionally, while exercise is equated to a healthy body, medics contend that moderate to intense exercise done once in a day helps increase ones life time. For instance, daily exercise helps in the boosting of self-esteem, which in turn improves self-image. For many people, especially the women, body shape, and size directly impacts their self-confidence. In the modern day today, slim bodies are considered fit and healthy, while big bodies are equated to being unhealthy or even lack physical exercise (Caravella, 2015). Regardless of a persons age, size, gender or weight, daily physical exercise effectively improves their self-image. This is due to the fact that, exercise helps in mentally elevating an individuals perception of their own attractiveness and self-worth. This being said, a person can have peace of mind which in one way or the other, boosts their health and immunity.
Gary ODonovan, a scholar in the Exercise as Medicine program, at the Loughborough University in England, contends that daily physical exercise helps prevent cognitive decline. A majority of the people fail to understand the fact that, as we get older, the functioning of our brains also decreases. With age, comes degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer, which often kill the brain cells. Additionally, the brain is also said to reduce in size, leading to the loss of a number of crucial brain functions. Although diet and exercise cannot cure a condition like Alzheimer, studies indicate that various forms of exercise essentially helps in shoring the brain up against the cognitive decline that is known to begin after the age of 45 (Charlington, 2008). Thus, in this regard, medics advise people between the age of 25 and 45, to engage in daily physical exercise so as to enhance the boost of various chemicals in the brain. These chemicals and hormones substantially support and at the same time prevent the degeneration of the hippocampus, a crucial brain part that is responsible for memory and learning.
In conclusion, physical exercise involves a healthy diet and healthy physical activities. According to different studies, physical exercise, especially when done on a daily or a routine basis, is widely considered as the best way to maintain a healthy and an active body. The neglect of the human health, which is primarily as a result of lack of physical exercise causes numerous physical and mental disease related problems. While exercise is of different kinds, health care professionals recommend that it is incorporated in peoples daily lives so as to enhance both physical and mental health.
