In both of the stories, excellent writing seems to be very important and interesting. In Miller's writing, his conversation throughout the passage he is seen to be talking in a clever way discussing and elaborating how writings and reading are diminishing all over the world. This is to mean that there is a decrease in the value of writing and reading due to uninteresting writings. He quotes by saying that there is always irrelevant increase in labor for those teachers in the business of teaching on careful writing and reading (Miller). In his writing, Richard Miller is trying to encourage those who are involved in reading and writing not at any given time give up and keep the work excellence. In his belief, writing and reading have been acknowledged as a tool that is invaluable through the history and form which is optimal in which generation and people can borrow or rather gain ideas from. Due to modern technology, writing and reading are seen to be forgotten and no much interest in it in the view of society.

In his writing, Miller says to those who understand and recognized writing is a defensive response and yet they can't realize it diminishes due to a globalized economy emergency and the intensive rise of technology today hence bringing about the decrease in the significance of cultural academy(Miller). The society can only have a positive emotional response in reading if only they can keep away the rise of modern technology and emphasis on writing and reading as their priority.

Richard Miller on his writing puts that good writing tends to encourage people on reading. This is seen throughout his text and points he tries to make showing the importance of a good writer. In the other hand, Cisneros in the writing also shares the same idea. She quotes that it is important for people who are always busy working to be considered in writing for they deserve stories which are little and beautiful. In her argument, it implies that she believes people who are working for their living or rather people at large like to read writings which are short and interesting (Cisneros). She is convinced that work from someone can be an outlet around them in the entire world. The positive response in reading appears to be one of the major benefits in good writing. In her writing, Cisneros also emphasizes that the reader will be influenced or attracted by a good writer. As she is quoted saying, "the reader pauses, making each sentence serve her", she tries to put it clear that every reader will be interested to get everything right in any good writing. The same is noticed in Richard Miller's writing by providing the reader with interesting writing to go through them.

There are several positive responses or reactions in Cisneros writing indicating the importance of good writing and writing. By mentioning several Latina writers in her writing including Rosario Castellanos, Elena Garro and Elena Poniatowski she quotes that they had no idea whether what they were wrong was extraordinary. By writing great literature work, she tries to bring about a positive emotional response to the reader. In her writing, she is focused on delivering good writing just as of these Latinas (Cisneros). She brings about the positive emotional response by trying to make a long life friendship reflecting the path of her life. "Dennis would come become a lifelong editor, ally, and the voice on the phone when either one of us lost heart", she says. This long life friendship suggests that she was able to get help from her partners when she required to be emotionally supported. Writing and reading bring more than just a positive emotional response. It also shows the people and characters that are created in us through good writing and reading.

Different views are given. By asking "How can art make a difference in the world?" the same question can be asked about the impact of writing in the world. In Miller's The Dark Night of Soul, its state different people like McCandless who believes in writing and reading and they invest significantly in the work of writing and reading (Miller). Power of writing is changing the entire world positively.
