Homelessness is caused by low supply of housing facilities to the low and middle income earners. This leaves a low and or a middle income earner with a battle of what to prioritize between food, clothing and housing well, a person cannot rent a house or construct their own at the expense of little or no food at all. Therefore, the only option is to let go the construction or renting the house. They would rather stay in the cold in a full stomach than rent a house with nothing left to buy food.

Changing Perceptions: Homelessness Beyond the Urban Areas

As the homeless population overwhelmingly increased, there perception that the homeless population was only found in the inner city skid raw areas of the United States and not in the country side was disapproved by the recent researches that revealed that some of the population are staying in some nonmetropolitan, suburban and many rural locales. This is because the homeless youths become homeless parents parenting homeless children thus overstretching the city corridors and verandas. They also ran out of food and thus become hostile to their fellows forcing them to quite.

Daily Struggles of the Homeless Population

When it rains, they are rained on, when the sun shines, it scorches their skins and shiver when the wind blows. A few have been through this for a day or two in a life time. These homeless populations go through this on a daily basis. This does not leave them normal, in return to counter all that, they resort to drug abuse and hostility. Life in the garbage area isn't pleasing at all. They always suffer injuries from broken glass to rusty iron to harmful chemicals from disposed batteries and electronics.

Their children play with harmful objects causing deep cuts which usually goes un attended. They also suffer from diseases due to exposure to harsh conditions, and inhaling harmful gases whenever the disposed objects are set on fire.

Dreams and Struggles: Aspirations of the Homeless

They also have worries in life! They want to marry, have a family, parent their children, provide for their families and drive just like anybody else would. These worries makes them depressed when they seems to be unachievable considering their present state of life hence some have been forced to indulge in pick pocketing, robbery and drug trafficking.

Some cartels use them because they are cheap and ready to risk to the point of losing their lives. Their parents are also miserable enough not to caution them of the risks involved and so they perish in the hands of the corps in open gun fire exchanges. They also forms the majority in the people in prisons of the United States of America and the unlearned population.

Potential Solutions to Address Homelessness

To reduce homeless population, the government will be forced to go the extra mile by providing affordable housing facilities, schools and reclaim the vast arid and semi-arid land in the United States and absorb this population to practice Agriculture. Through this, other industries will be created and homelessness and joblessness will be history.

Even as we bestow our efforts to eradicate homelessness, we should encourage our people to work by all means. This way, we will be able to eliminate poverty and thus homeliness too. God wants us to help the needy, but this aspect will lack moral status if at all we will just sit waiting for help. The Bible says that we must work to eat. Now, since the beginning of time, our society has always experienced homelessness. This plague expands to all racial, ethnic and societal boundary, and can touch anyone`s life at any given time. With a large percentage of people who live in poverty in the United States, the problem of homelessness can get worse, unless we put our efforts together to put a stop to the plague.
