When it comes to supporting old adults suffering from IDD, vital areas that should be considered in their decision making, people with IDD also have equal rights when making a decision just like the rest of the people (Elders, 2016). Also, they should be supported in getting better health care and realistic accommodations. While making these decisions, the 52-year adult with the IDD is supposed to get assistance from their care providers and those closer. The care provider will help the IDD adult know their preferences and make better decisions for their intervention in their medical options.

Financial exploitation of adults with dementia is a major social problem in the society. However, it has not been given much attention by several individuals despite the high increase in the exploitation (Elders, 2016). The adult who has dementia should get support against those who are using their funds, assets, and property inappropriately. Also, the caretakers should ensure that nobody accesses the affected accounts without their consent and also protects them from the forgery of signatures. An individual with dementia is always living with various comorbidities such as diabetes and hypertension. To help reduce these comorbidities, the caretakers and close people will be required to use a lot of resources; therefore, the burden will increase.

60-Year-Old Male Anticipating Re-Entry Into Society

The spouse of the 60-year-old male anticipating reentry into society after 12-year imprisonment should ensure that he gets support in the following housing, basic needs, and case management (Adorno, 2018). Other significant support includes case management. Like other released prisoners, the released man will face the following comorbidities difficulties into reentry in the labor force, finding better housing, and also, he will find it difficult to get any public assistance. To mitigate these comorbidities, it will be a burden to the caretakers because of high finances required.

66-Year-Old Homeless War Veteran

No war veteran person should be without a place he or she should call home. Therefore, like other war veterans, the 66-year-old war veteran should get assistance from departments of housing and urban development and also get support from the supportive services for veteran families. The comorbidities that the 66-year-old war veteran is suffering from orthopedic, mood, adjustment disorders, and mood disorders (Adorno, 2018). Caretakers will be burdened to help reduce the comorbidities.

Conclusion

IDD affects a person's daily life. The 52-year-old person with IDD is suffering from the following comorbidities autism spectrum disorder, comorbid physical diseases, psychotic disorder, affective disorders, and anxiety disorders. Supporting this in reducing these comorbidities is costly. Therefore, it increases the burden for the caretakers.
