Q1
This research was something that I liked. Indeed, it was an excellent experience to interview a total of three people randomly selected. The study provided a unique opportunity for understanding the demographic attributes of each participant alongside other perceptions, such as their role models in life. The responses gathered in the study were exciting. Every subject's response differed from the rest not only in terms of their age but also understanding their feelings about age. Nevertheless, the interviewing process was crucial in building new relationships with the respondents and understanding their overall perception about life. The questions included in the interview were also exciting and helped in uncovering new ideas and concepts about life. For instance, it was interesting to realize that some respondents were never part of a social or religious group while growing up. One of the respondents revealed that he grew up on the streets. His upbringing presented countless challenges in their lives. However, his ability to confront those problems and become an influential member of society left me inspired and motivated. Indeed, there is need for people in contemporary society to come out and support such individuals to realize their goals in life.
Q.2. Were your subjects willing to help or did they not want to answer your questions? If not, which questions did they appear uncomfortable or express discomfort?
The research had mixed experiences. Some respondents were willing to share information and respond effectively to the questions raised during the interview. However, one of them showed resistance and did not want to participate in the interview. Afterwards, the respondent accepted to participate in the interview. This respondent sought to have a comprehensive understanding of the aims of the study before assuring his willingness to participate. He also participated in the interview of understanding the overall dedication to protecting his anonymity. Nonetheless, the respondents still showed resistance in answering some questions. Subjects were uncomfortable when asked to respond to the questions of race, ethnicity, and where they grew.
Q.3. Was it difficult to write a questionnaire or find a variety of subjects? Discuss any difficulties you had with the project.
Carrying out research is always an enjoyable experience that allows scholars to obtain the answers to their study questions. Also, research provides a unique opportunity for the scholar to interact with the respondents. However, the process presents critical challenges for the researcher. The scholar should be ready to confront and address these challenges to successfully carry out the study. For instance, I encountered various problems when preparing and even carrying out interviews. First, it was challenging to develop a questionnaire that would help in the collection of data. For instance, I had to revise the questionnaire on several occasions to ensure that it adequately catered for the needs of the study. Secondly, it was difficult to find subjects to particpate in the study. The random approach presented the challenge of convincing the respondent on the primary reasons for carrying out the research. Therefore, it was crucial to respect their privacy and confidentiality. Nevertheless, the unwillingness of the respondents to answer the questions outlined in the above section also presented a critical challenge in the interviewing process. Lastly, the respondents' ineffective communication, especially while answering the questionnaire and during the interview process presented a significant problem.
