Code naming is an important aspect of clinical medicine and carries a strategic position in condition diagnosis and providing medical practitioners with sufficient information on the condition and how the specific case came to exist. In addition, these codes have specific recommendations on the interventions to be used for specific conditions. Yet a complex process, an analysis of the impact of coding, provides surprising information on how condition coding and test preparation process. This analysis of readings focusses on the billing and code testing preparation process and the strategic importance of these aspects of clinical medicine.
In chapter one, the readings focus on describing an incident by placing much focus on the naming strategy and its strategic importance in describing elements that concern an incident. The chapter plays a vital role in describing the cause of aggression and in deciding the medication to use in these individual cases (IntroductionT_ICD10 Trainer coding, 2014). Finally, the chapter ends with a strategic discussion of the ICD-10-CM codes and their features as well as the great potential these codes have in increasing precision and specificity when describing phenomena about incidents. From chapter one can understand the strategic importance of coding in recommending medical interventions.
The next chapter discusses historical stories that surround the condition and some of the most important aspects to consider during coding. Initially, the chapter emphasizes the need for precision as ICD-9-CM, and ICD-10-CM manuals show infectious and parasitic diseases. Hence, it is strategically essential to review the coding guidelines. Surprisingly, the phobia has its own coding system that is more specific, hence allowing for precision on the cause of the patient's fear (IntroductionT_ICD10 Trainer coding, 2014). For instance, patients with fear flying can be described with the code F40.243. On the other hand, complications during pregnancy and childbirth conditions are coded using ICD-10-CM and have a code assigned to them based on the condition and influence on the patient (Shiland, 2014). Codes O00–O9A are assigned to patients based on their condition and only used on the mother’s records. The chapter provides additional importance of the congenital anomaly condition codes that contain more information contained in a single code. In this aspect, the codes have two principal codes at the end of the code that explains the specifications of the respective case, where they represent the location.
The next chapter possesses instances of injuries, poisoning, and other consequences of external causes of injury or infections (S00-T88). The chapter begins by pointing out the need for specialized testing by pointing out the dangers of home repair attempts. The chapter highlights misdiagnosis as the main contributor to the dangers that surround home repair. This is based on the biased nature of the analysis that focusses on severe injury cases while ignoring some of the essential elements of analysis. Therefore, there are high chances of assigning unspecified codes. For instance, in the case of a patient being stabbed, it is strategically essential to identify these wounds before any further analysis. This is important in helping to understand and find cases of foreign material that can be found in the patient’s body. Hence, this chapter also discusses the need for further information before making significant assumptions and decisions concerning the condition (IntroductionT_ICD10 Trainer coding, 2014). Hence there is the need for improved clarification of the case and its causes to help understand the condition and how it can be fixed and the respective codes to be assigned to the injury. Finally, the chapter insists on the need to have structured interventions and analysis procedures that will help in the development of workable solutions as the conditions may turn out to be more severe than they may look in the eye. Patients need to place much emphasis on understanding the extent of the condition rather than focusing on how fast to regain normality as at times, its more severe neglecting interventions than solving the problem from the root.
Finally, readings emphasize on the need to have structured intervention to medical conditions despite their appearance on the eye. It was surprising to understand how mild conditions can be disastrous to one's health if left undiagnosed and properly handled. From the scenarios in the book, some cases have more consequences than they may look in the first instance as most of the damage may be from internal body parts; hence, hard to code the level of influence (IntroductionT_ICD10 Trainer coding, 2014). Without a proper understanding of the dynamics of the condition, there are often unsuccessful interventions due to the lack of understanding of the level of influence of the condition and where it needs to be handled.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I utilized the short notes and Meditation techniques to improve working memory. The study techniques were important as they helped in gaining more insightful information on the study topic. Based on the additional information on the diagnosis provided in this reading, I am in a position to successfully sit for the test. The scenarios have helped in providing more insight and information on handling medical conditions and the need to have structured analysis for easy coding and medication for these conditions.
