Nursing Theorist: Virginia Henderson
Ahtisham, Y., & Jacoline, S. (2015). Integrating Nursing Theory and Process into Practice; Virginia's Henderson Need Theory. International Journal of Caring Sciences, 8(2).
Ahtisham and Jacoline researched to explain how a nursing theory can be efficiently applied in a clinical setting to counter the gap that exists between theory and practice and also to improve nursing care. The basis of their research was that there lacked any literature to explain how the much available theory can be put into practice. They used Virginia Henderson Need Theory in their study where they integrated it with nursing theory process. By using a case study of Mr.x who had a case of attempted suicide, the authors compared the 14 components developed by Virginia Henderson in her theory to assess needs of this patient thereby showing how a theory can be put into practice. This article is very efficient when it comes to gathering knowledge on how a theory can be put into practice. The report successfully shows how Virginia's need theory can be used to improve patient care in the various healthcare setting, and for this I find this article to be very resourceful.
Waller-Wise, R. (2013). Utilizing Henderson's Nursing Theory in Childbirth Education. International Journal of Childbirth Education, 28(2).
Waller-Wise in her article argues that all nurses working as childbirth educators at any healthcare facility need to utilize a nursing theory to obtain the best status. For the nurses to excel in their work, they need to learn how to apply theory in their course of action. One theory that can be well utilized in a childbirth education is Virginia Henderson's theory according to the author. The article applies each of the 14 basics needs to be developed by Henderson in various childhood classes. This article is relevant when it comes to an understanding how nursing theory can be utilized to improve patient care or nursing experience. By showing how childbirth educators can incorporate Henderson's theory I find the article also much applicative when it comes to nursing theories.

Demiris, G., Thompson, H., Reeder, B., Wilamowska, K., & Zaslavsky, O. (2013). Using informatics to capture older adults' wellness. International Journal Of Medical Informatics, 82(11), e232-e241. http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.ijmedinf.2011.03.004
The journal using informatics to capture older adults' wellness is from the international journal of the medical informatics and was written in 2013. The authors write this article with the aim of demonstrating the way visualization and assessment of the wellness of older adults is supported by informatics application. They do a presentation of a theoretical framework that gives information to the technology design that is used in the screening for wellness platform. The authors find out that the older adults are ready to take part in interventions that are enhanced by technology. The article is helpful in my research since I now know that informatics can be used to support a proper assessment of the wellness of older adults and in advancing older adults health care. I can use this article's information to show how adverse health events can be reduced via informal and formal caring networks.
Albrecht, N. (2014). Wellness: A Conceptual Framework for School-based Mindfulness Programs. International Journal of Health, Wellness & Society, 4(1).
The journal was written by Albrecht in the year 2014and published by the international journal of wellness, health, and society. However, in the last ten year, there has been a witness to the exponential increase in school-based programs being established all over the world. Thus the author of this article wishes to use wellness as the theoretical framework for enhancing and guiding the appreciation of research and practice that is mindfulness. The author introduces wellness principles, philosophy, and some characteristics and uses the context to understand the incentive of cultivating mindfulness in students like in a class. Thus, I find the article relevant to my research project since wellness for everyone is essential, and it is discovered in the article that programs are meant to give a wide range of wellness results thus I can experiment some of the programs regardless of the relationship between environment and mindfulness to get different wellness outcomes. I can also use it in my research essay to determine wellness can be used in improving and integrating mindfulness.
