Introduction
Nurses play a significant role in the healthcare industry in delivering quality healthcare to patients. The healthcare industry is changing, and there is a need to incorporate different scientific research that will help in eradicating diseases in society. Also, nursing research helps in reducing healthcare costs through the use of modern methods of treatment. Also, it helps nurses to adapt to the new trends in the nursing industry. The importance of medical practitioners to understand the basic principles of research is to help them in improving high-quality patient care in hospitals. For instance, Nursing Informatics is a concept that integrates nursing, computer, and information sciences as a way of providing high-quality patient care. The data gathered by nurse informatics helps health practitioners in monitoring the condition of patients in hospitals. The rational focus of this article is to come up with effective ways of improving the healthcare industry.
Quantitative Research
The rational focus of quantitative research in nursing is to help medical practitioners is to acquire information and have a clear understanding of the social world. Scientists use this concept as a way of observing and monitoring the effects of different diseases in the society. This approach helps them in coming up with effective ways of conducting scientific research that will help in eradicating the disease in society (Koutoukidis, Funnell, Lawrence, Stainton, & Hughson, 2008). The quantitative research used in this article focuses on the increased obesity cases in the United States. Medical practitioners have considered this issue as a national health crisis as a result of the increased number of patients. Over the past years, cases of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, as well as heart diseases have increased in the country. Nurses indicate that more than 25 percent of the adults in each state have diabetes. This approach has forced the government and healthcare sector to come up with practical ways of addressing the issue in the country. For instance, the government has initiated different programs that will help its citizens access affordable health foods in the country. Also, as a way of avoiding early childhood obesity cases, the government has provided safe walking routes where students can exercise by walking or riding bikes to school. This approach will help in creating a healthy living society in the United States. People who consume alcohol or smoke cigarettes are likely to be exposed to type 2 diabetes diseases. Therefore, people should improve their eating habits as a way of staying healthy and fit. This approach will help in reducing obesity cases in the country.
Based on the information gathered by medical practitioners, it helps them in incorporating different methods that will improve quality healthcare in society. For instance, nurses can use the information collected on malnutrition cases and come up with effective ways of addressing the issue in society.
Qualitative Research
The field of nursing is changing as a result of incorporating qualitative research methods in the healthcare industry. The rational focus of this study is to express some of the experiences of medical practitioners and patients in healthcare systems. The qualitative design used in this article focuses on leadership techniques in the field of nursing. Transformative leadership has played a significant role in providing high-quality healthcare in the hospital. For instance, nurses from departments have decided to join forces as a way of coming up with effective ways of treating patients or responding during an emergency. The nurses have decided to come up with a chart labeled with different colors such as red, green, yellow. Red indicates that a patient requires immediate help based on his critical health condition. Green means that a patient's condition can be overseen by one or two nurses and does not need urgent help. Yellow indicates that a patient is in god hands, and his health condition is improving based on the prescription assigned to him by nurses. Also, nurses have joined forces in coming up with a unique platform that allows patients to air their grievances without the fear of being judged (Morse & Field, 2013). For instance, a nurse can decide to ask a patient to present ideas that need to be changed or addressed in the hospital. This approach helps in creating a favorable working environment between nurses and patients. Also, it shows that the hospital values their patients. Qualitative research in the healthcare industry plays a significant role in the healthcare industry in coming up with effective ways of motivating and rewarding employees in an organization.
Research Sampling
Sampling is a research method technique used to gather information about a particular set of people or an organization. The data gathered helps in analyzing their behavioral characteristics, beliefs, and practices in different fields. The probability sampling technique is widely used in quantitative research. Nurses use this method as a way of randomly selecting units from different samples that need to be tested (Guest & Namey, 2014). For instance, doctors can use different blood samples as a way of testing DNA samples obtained from different participants. Also, random sampling is used in collecting information where each person has an equal and known opportunity of being selected.
Credible Nursing Practice
Research plays a significant role in transforming the healthcare industry across the globe. The information gathered in different scientific research can be used to improve quality healthcare treatment in hospitals. For instance, recent scientific research in malaria has helped in eradicating the disease across the globe. Also, the scientific methods used in treating chronic diseases have helped in improving high-quality patient care in hospitals. The rational focus of research in evidence-based practice is to help medical practitioners in determining different drugs and procedures that are effective in curing diseases.
Conclusion
The process of running an organization requires the implementation of well-structured policies that will improve the performance of an organization. The process of incorporating transformative leadership in the healthcare industry helps in keeping nurses accountable for their actions. Scientific research in different fields of nursing has helped in transforming the healthcare industry across the globe. Also, there is a need to come up with effective ways of rewarding and motivating nurses. This approach will help in working hard in meeting the needs of their patients as well as their organization. The healthcare industry should invest in modern technology as a way of transforming the healthcare sector. For instance, nursing informatics helps medical practitioners in accessing information of patients based on their medical history, lab reports, as well as imaging results in offering the required drug prescriptions. Also, nurses can decide to incorporate telemonitoring that allows them to monitor patients regardless of their geographical location.
