The Nobel Prize in literature is an annual award that is awarded to an individual who has done outstanding and respectable work in an idealistic way that positively contributes to humankind. The award is bestowed by Norwegian and Swedish institutions in order to recognize cultural as well as literature advances (Lebuda 210). The award is given to someone who has made outstanding contributions in literature such as singers, songwriters, poets as well as authors. Some of the singer-songwriters that have received the Nobel Prize in literature in the past include Bob Dylan in the year 2016 as well as Toni Morrison in the year 1993.

The decision to award a singer-songwriter the Nobel Prize in literature is made on the basis of clear claims, logical reasons, as well as evidence that the songwriter's work is outstanding and positively contributes to humankind. Outstanding singer-songwriters should be awarded the Nobel Prize in the literature to show appreciation to songwriters that compose outstanding lyrics with an impactful message aimed at positively changing the world. Besides, outstanding songwriters should be awarded a Nobel Prize to act as a motivation to singers all over the world on why they should compose good lyrics and songs that aim at changing the world. For instance, Dolly Parton is an American singer-songwriter that writes and sings country music songs. The songwriter is a humanitarian known for her great work in country music. Dolly has written and composed more than 3000 songs and has won several awards, such as Grammy, Billboards as well as Oscar's award (Lebuda 211). The songwriter should be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature since most of her work has positively influenced the world as well as she has been outstanding in her career. She has been able to use her music career to connect people with the larger truths and ideas in society. Besides, she has remained outstanding by using her skills to record the thoughts and experiences of people in a way that is accessible to others.

Besides, the songwriter has been able to use her skills to help people all over the world to appreciate the culture and beliefs of different people across the globe. In addition, most of her songs and compositions address and promote humanity. For instance, her coat of many colors composition addresses humanity by revealing the plight of the poor. She talks about her own experience of how she was mistreated and laughed at by young children when she was in school for poverty and wearing a coat that had many small pieces of clothes. Besides, Dolly addresses the issue of gender biasness and gender violence and provides a solution to the challenge. For instance, Dolly composed a song titled "Just Because I'm a Woman" to address the issue of mistreatment among women by men. Also, Dolly Parton has written many songs about love and marriages, highlighting the reasons why lovers should remain committed to each other and therefore solve the issues of separation and divorce in marriages. For instance, her compositions named " I Will Always Love You" as well as "Islands in the Stream" provides outstanding lyrics and messages to marriage partners on the need to respect marriages and raise children in the best ways, thus help in making the world a better place to live. Therefore, from the above-described facts, I strongly believe that singer-songwriters such as Dolly Parton should be awarded a Nobel Prize in Literature.
