Master's in crime scene investigation is a lucrative degree program which shape an individual to be a crime scene investigator when the cases arise. Not only the course is applicable to crime investigators alone but also the master program is of very useful to special agents, detectives, and forensic science and lawyers. As a technician in forensic science, the program is very beneficial since the knowledge acquired from the degree; I apply it in solving daily issues related to death investigations by examining available forensic pieces of evidence. This paper is discussing my reasons why I choose the program, my qualifications for top jobs and goals that I will achieve after earning the degree. Additionally, the paper also includes my working experiences and internships in the field (Moriarty, 2017).

My main interest on why I chose to enroll in masters in crime Scene investigation for forensic science is because, the programs equips technicians of forensic science with relevant advanced skills that assist me in catching, convicting and acquitting crime suspects in my daily work. The knowledge acquired from programs also will help me to use modern techniques in handling and collecting pieces of evidence from the scene of the crime, which later I will analyze them in the laboratory to come up with correct findings. My interest in the program is also as a result of ensuring justice is served to the victims by working closely with the police investigators. The program will give me the capacity to identify the cause death from DNA tests and possibly identify the suspects who are involved to the crime hence promote fair judgment in the court of law (Morelato et al., 2014).

I feel that upon completion of masters of crime scene investigation in forensic science I will be ready for top criminal jobs. Upon completion and graduating with masters, I would have gained the necessary experience by going for the internships in leading criminal investigation government institutions like Department of Homeland Security and assist in forensic science investigation. Besides, before graduating I will be already worked at the University of South Alabama Center to gain needed skills and experience forensic digital investigation the appropriate technologies. Therefore, after graduating I will have the required qualifications to work in top criminal scene investigation jobs such as government forensic science technician (Morelato et al., 2014).

My main goal to achieve after earning the master degree in forensic science is to have complete knowledge in justice administration through making accurate test findings giving me entry qualification passage to work with different police departments, forensic laboratories, and related medical fields. I will also manage to expand my brain and being able to use both quantitative and qualitative techniques in reasoning. Last but not least, I will also have competency in the following sectors; processing of crime scene, documentation, preservation, and packaging of the evidence and being able to apply forensic science in the justice system (Gabel, 2014).

Conclusion

In summary, there are many programs offered by universities under Master in crime scene investigation ranging from forensic science and law. The program mainly is for enforcing the law and ensuring justice is served to all citizens regardless of class. As a technician in forensic science, I have realized that the master's program more relevant in improving my everyday work by equipping me with modern digital skills in collecting and analyzing DNA information. Immediately after graduation, I will be able to achieve all my goals which will help me to work effectively in the field of forensic science.
