Introduction
Since childhood, I've always been very passionate about joining the National Honor Society because of its exceptionality. The organization gives students the opportunity to engage in service by helping children and the needy, and I would be honored to be part of that. In particular, being chosen by my teachers among all students was personal for me because this meant that I had demonstrated exceptional quality to help and work with others and I trust that the organization will allow me to grow as a person and as a service provider to the community. I believe that I would fit perfectly and become a valuable member of NHS because of my ability in terms of leadership, scholarship, service, and character.
I believe I am a great scholar because I always strive to be the best. My academic achievement is a result of my effort as a student, and my schedule is always filled with rigorous classes. Since junior high, I have taken all honor courses, and with the help of my teachers, I've participated in many academic competitions, and I've always merged the top. In addition, I participated in the IB program during my freshman and sophomore years, and I'm currently taking AP classes.
Apart from being a scholar, I have portrayed great leadership skills by playing an active role in my school. For instance, I've engaged in many sports competitions and youth conferences of which I was the leader. Particularly, my three-year experience in the school's swim team improved not only my sportsmanship but also my leadership skills. My leadership qualities in these instances indicate that I place significant emphasis on being the best and leading my teams to excellence.
My character has always helped me interact effectively with people from different cultures and backgrounds. I believe that my love for people, in particular, will be valuable for NHS. Leadership skills often come with great character, and because of this, I've always been the favorite for any leadership position in my school. I also believe that I take the lives of others importantly and I've always done my best to change someone's life whenever I could.
Good character and skills are useful not only in school but also in the community. Every summer, I tend to spend more time with needy children than I do with my family. I take great pleasure in giving these kids social support and tutoring them if need be. Sometimes, together with my family, we take trips around the community hospitals where we present gifts and flowers to cancer patients and spend quality time with them. Conclusion
Because of my academic ability, leadership skills, and character, I believe that NHS is the best place to help me reach my potential by helping others. My experience of service in my community and my academic achievement serve as proof that my abilities and character meet the expectation of NHS and I hope to be considered for the placement.
