Introduction
The issue of insecurity especially to the students has been a paramount issue in the recent past; the need to tackle the problem and establish a permanent solution has triggered diverse and numerous suggestion. However, despite all this suggestion in the discussion taking place. I still feel that providing the teachers with arms as a way of solving the problem is an uninformed decision that should be executed whatsoever. At least in a bid to avoid those negative impacts that would be experienced. Security is a sensitive matter but matters to all. However, this cannot justify implementation from non-professionals.
Its likely that the arms would be held inappropriately and perhaps misuse the same. The docket is likely to experience a lot of control problems when allowed to spread all over the place. Security apparatus should not pass the responsibility to those who do not belong to the docket at any given time given the sensitivity of holding arms (Vafaee, Reza par 2 2015).
Secondly, it's not wise to think that all who are in the education docket are fit for the control of the arms the best way to deal with it is far much a contrast to the suggested plan. The solution is within the security personnel they are the best people to tackle the task since they are trained vetted and assessed for their fitness in handling the arms. Many can argue that a teacher can be trained and vetted for the task. However we cannot ignore the fact that this is a professionalism which needs a cautious process and it might not be compatible with every teacher (unless the training is meant for the self-defense purposes) it does not make sense when a good teacher who cannot be able to hold security matters comfortably be considered as ineligible on the basis of the arm handling.
Additionally, the introduction of the arm is likely to hype the security issue problem per see rather than solving it.it is very likely that the student will be intimidated by the presence of arm in their school rather than promoting tranquility and peace in them. This fear is the reason why more complication will be as a result of this decision implementation. A student is sensitive, and they should be handled delicately. This means that we should avoid the system that makes them feel more of the victim rather than safe (Vafaee, Reza par 3 2015).
Another issue to put in my mind before taking that course is how good and justifiable it is for almost everybody to own an arm?. The more the arms are owned all over the place, the more they are likely not to be easily controlled and managed .irresponsible armament can lead to more complications that would otherwise not to be felt had the arm owning was held more sensitively and cautiously. According to the security experts, it gets quite hard to control the situation on arms ownership. This condition gets worse with the rise in population that is having arms (Carlucci, Donald E., and Sidney S. Jacobson. Par 5 2018).
Allowing arms to be part of the security mechanism indicates the hopelessness of the security apparatus in the country. This is wrong and untrue. The security providers are so determined, and all they need is information from the general public. If the system seeks to improve anything it should be to impart the skill and ability to discern insecurity plots amongst themselves. It should be the detective tactics that will help the teachers, students and the general public. This will help in bringing down the insecurity in the school as a long-term solution (Dornyei, Zoltan pg7 2018)
Some people can also argue that this is not the preferable decision to go with given that there are a better method and way of dealing with the conflict. Conflict resolution should not necessarily be approached from the same and similar perspective of the arm always (Zakaria Omar et al. pg 15 2015).
This method can only seem to be advocating and encouraging the instant justice which has been associated with a lot of complications. It's, therefore, wiser to deal with the matter any other way rather than employing this archaic method which will have a negative impact as a newly acquired method of solving the conflict Hooshangi, (Sara, Richard, and Justin . Par 5 2015).
Armament is not a solution to the underlying security issue not when the ethic and training are not well implemented. What carries the ability for the program to succeed is how well the human can interact with arms without causing alarm or even intimidating the people around. This might take a lot of resources and time which are much limited. Therefore this will not have a notable impact or effect on the security system (Sloan, John J pg 35 1992).
When the two different professionals are given to the same task it is very likely that there may be high chances of colliding and miscommunication which might bring disastrous outcome which will eventually undermine the delivery of security implementation. Security is one of the commodities that does not happen when speculated and when that happens it calls for instant reaction. The delivery of the security will depend purely on the implementer and in this case where the two implementers have a very big disparity when it comes to the level of expertise and know how it is likely that at the end the day there will be some hitches and misunderstanding amongst the executors (Tomsho, Robert pg 27 2009).
Security needs to be delivered as it should be. Security cannot be provided in small or under delivered therefore there is a need to see it done purely by professionals this will even boost the confidence the general public has on the security docket. Ammunitions should only be given to the security providers and the genuine license holders of the gun who keeps that for self-defense. The rest, including students, are only subjected to the well trained and organized security details. Therefore if the security is to be provided to the student, it should be quality service. They deserve the best just like the rest of the students than provision from semi-qualified details. That will compromise the equality aspect that is also one of his/her right
There is also likely to be a high level of victimization. When ammunitions are numerous, there is the likelihood that most people will fall victim of the people who are in control of those arms. Some cases of people using guns to kill on cold blood are countless especially in united states of America. There is a lapse in human co-existence hence it needs more sensitization and training to the teachers who are going to get arms (Morton, David. Pg 58).
Conclusion
In conclusion, it will be unnecessary to have the teachers who are armed if the security details are improved and performing. Therefore arming the teachers is not a solution to the security problem. At least not now.
