Information governance comprises of structured information and unstructured data (Castillo, Raymundo & Mateos, 2017). Databases are examples of structured information, while emails and documents fall in the category of unstructured information. Moreover, information governance contains both internal and external stakeholders. Internal data users, professionals of information, and legal bodies are all examples of information governance. Organizational structures that promote IT strategies that compliment the goals of the business are provided by IT governance.

There are several differences between the three governance. However, management enhances technology performance to encourage the required business value while satisfying the demands of regulatory compliance. Nevertheless, it focuses on software development together with its maintenance. It aims at ensuring the effectiveness of IT. Data governance involves techniques that ensure gathered raw information is accurate or correct and free from reduction. It includes cleansing of data to remove inaccuracy and duplication.

Data usability is an appropriate example of data governance. There are differences in management in that; information governance controls information produced by IT and systems of the office. IT governance ensures that internal and soft copy information is protected from hackers and malicious individuals. Data governance comprise of techniques, tools, and processes that contribute towards achieving high quality and unique data.
