Improper diet influence people' aging process. In America, health expenditure is rising according to the increasing population of older people. Adults live a sedentary lifestyle that requires the knowledge of healthy eating for the older population. Carrying on sedentary lifestyle results in health complications like cardiovascular diseases. The prevalence of cardiovascular diseases like type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer has been reported to be rising. Bauer et al. (2013) outlined that it was after a survey that recorded a rough estimate of 194 million people across the world found to have type 2 diabetes and many cardiovascular-related diseases which amount to more than 10% of total deaths and roughly 4% of total Disability that lead to adjustments of life (Maurer & Smith, 2013).
First, I made the population know the need for studying their body mass index. I also advocate for nurses to encourage people to adhere to specific possible and detailed diet plans. I will also focus on enacting a reasonable study about enhancing a campaign against type 2 diabetes severity by encouraging leaders to collaborate and come up applied health research and workable care. Since Maurer and Smith (2013) outlined that the rising number of death cases has been reported to be high among African Americans in the diaspora. I taught the elderly people about tips of enhancing their health by adopting a viable diet for healthy living. I utilized normalization process theory in teaching the elderly about the cause of a weak immune system that is caused by improper diet. Bauer et al. (2013) asserted that application of normalization process theory to come up with an explanation of the implementation of new practices and innovations in health care systems proves that the approach should be used to view how people in various open systems should implement new practices.
I will use a PowerPoint presentation to outline the dietary terms of the food that the elderly need to take for a healthy life. I will also necessitate the need to incorporate vegetables and fruits in the elderly eating habits. Healthy meal plan like medium chicken, white fish, taking low-fat foods will be part of my priority for enhancing the knowledge concerning evening meals. I will also focus on objective one and two of the healthy people 2020 to enhance my teaching plan. Objective one and two healthy people 2020 offers grounds for enhancing community health program among Americans by seeking to alleviate the healthcare disparities among African-Americans. The objective relates to Maurer and Smith (2013, p.116) since it aims at enhancing the health of all population about the view concerning the fact that globalization enables people to travel across the world thus there is no need for discrimination. The goals that will be the center of the discussion include:
- To attain high-quality health, longer lives that are free of preventable disease, preventive approaches on the injury, disability and premature death due to preventable diseases.
- To eliminate disparities, improve the health of all groups and to attain health equity among African Americans.
I will also employ behavioral objective and domain in enhancing my community teaching plan. The most appropriate method and strategies for this program are through incorporating images of dietary plans and habits for achieving cardiovascular health.
Eating Habits as a Way of Preventing Cardiovascular Diseases.
In this study, I will enhance the participants' knowledge of the relevance of good diet by establishing a platform for focusing on health literacy. I will advise the target group to consider taking vegetables and fruits as a preventive approach to developing cardiovascular diseases (Tay et al., 2015).
Teaching Plan Concerning Change in People's View Concerning Junk Foods.
Since the most challenging aspect is the social and individual barriers, public health officials should advocate for a change in people view towards junks foods. It will be a viable approach to establish an interactive poster that will enable the target group to outsource information concerning the proper diet to follow and foods that they should avoid as a way of enhancing good health and achieving HP2020. Advocating for extensive diet management is a big issue among the participants of the study (Bauer et al., 2013). Therefore, I will come up with the necessary teaching posters that specify the required eating plan for saving the populations from unhealthy practices.
I will begin my presentation with an anecdote that will attract the audience and focus on my topic of discussion until the end. I will later hook up my presentation with statistical information that will also incorporate the cause of the death of the prominent people. Gestures, figurative language, and facial expressions will enhance my talk with the target audience. The overall effect will be evaluated by asking the audience to make posters of the proper diet for effective management of cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Additionally, the audience will be asked to name other approaches for limiting health inequality as experienced among African Americans.
