Global warming is defined as a rise in the earth's surface temperatures and a long term change in the climate system of the earth. It has been confirmed through the measurement of direct temperatures to the surface of the earth. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) assessment report, human activities are the major cause of global warming.

Industrialization is a major cause of global warming. Companies all over the world are transforming from using manpower to the sophisticated use of machines. The industrialization has been linked with the acceleration of gas and water pollution. Since its inception during the industrial revolution in the 19th century, there has been rampant acidification of rivers and the release of fossil fuel gases. The emission of greenhouse gases has had a great negative impact on the ozone layer. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane are acidic in nature and puncture the ozone layer of gases that protects the harmful ultraviolet rays from penetrating. The dominant source of greenhouse gases is the burning of fossil fuel, agricultural activities that release emissions and even deforestation. Burning fossil fuels have been categorized as the leading cause of emissions.

Deforestation is another cause of global warming. According to the UN data reports, at least 4 billion hectares of the earth is covered with forests. That equals 31% of the land surface (Jorgeson,2006). This is less compared to the 5.9 billion hectares of the industries and the build settlements. Each day, millions of acres of forests are being cleared, to either harvest wood or even expand settlement and infrastructure. Some people clear forests to farm and establish ranches. Forests are responsible for the storage of carbon, removing it in the air making it conducive for the survival of other species. Forests are the main part of biodiversity and deforestation leads endangering of species.

Overuse of electricity and consumerism also causes global warming Overfishing has been ranked as another major cause of global warming. There are many fishing jobs around the world, making it the most crowded industry.Fish is the main source of proteins for many households, and this has put the oceans at risk of depletion of the natural species. Marine stock is an important bio-diversity regulator in the ocean. The depletion of fish results in the increase of carbon dioxide. The ecological principle behind this fact is that biomass and energy do not get transferred well through the food chain, hence the improper gain of biomass between prey and predators(Jorgeson,2006).Big fish, are the predators and mostly feed on small fish and planktons. The overfishing of the big fish results in the overpopulation of the planktons and the ultimate increase of carbon dioxide, production. Excessive carbon emission has led to the acidification of the oceans, resulting in the death of coral reefs and little fish species.

Conclusion

In conclusion, global warming is a new phenomenon in the world which is largely caused by human activities such as deforestation, industrialization and even the release of aerosols in the space. The toxicity in the oceans and the death of species is largely caused by the increase of heat and carbon dioxide in the space.
