Does men more superior than women in society?
The issue of men being superior to women is seen in the documentary Out in the Night where the court passes out judgment to a group of women and term them as the gang of a killer. Because the person who committed the problem was a man the court tends to think that men are more important than women, then they convicted women although they were innocent and guilty with the proof of the witnesses of the incident.
The idea of men being regarded as more critical is being witnessed in most communities where men are being treated with respect especially in the families. Most of the families see fathers as more special than anyone in the house and tend to receive special treatments compared to other members of the community. For example, most families believe that fathers should not use the same dishes with other members of the community where their plates are preserved for them alone.
Also, the idea of men being important than women is seen in the law enforcement system where most cases men are set free in spite of being the one who committed the crime. Most courts assume that most men are always right in the arguments and the women are mostly the one who commit crimes in the society. The idea has made most women in the community not to rise and fight for their rights and freedom and also denying them in public participation and leadership changes in the society. Most communities believe that women cannot lead them well and they should not be given chances of leadership. But in general, both men and women are equal.
How does society see lesbians in the community?
Most of the communities degrade the lesbians and sees them as they are not worth to live in society and they should be killed. Most of the lesbians in the society faced a lot of discrimination, hate crimes and general prejudicial attitudes from the people in the community. From the incident of the documentary Out in the Night where the group of lesbians was condemned and taken to prison yet, they were the one who was harassed and sexually threatened. The court seems to be more discriminative to the lesbians, and despite all witnesses, the lesbians were still imprisoned by the court.
Most communities see lesbians as the outcasts in society, and most lesbians are being discriminated and neglected by the members of the community. Most of them do not receive attention especially in the cases where they are looking for treatment. Families tend to deny their children from lesbianism, and they tend to chase them away if they get involved in the lesbianism act. They think that lesbianism is associated with criminal doing in the community. According to research most of the lesbians seem to face a lot of stress, and many of them die of stigma. Court system tends to pass massive judgments on those people who are believed to be lesbians. Most of them do not receive support from most of the law enforcement forces (D'Augelli, 2001). Although, to be lesbians is someone choices most of the people tend to hate the people who decide to be and thus most of the lesbians will face a lot of discrimination and hatred.
