Forensic psychology is essential in the process of handling legal matters, where professionals are involved in applying psychological knowhow in legal matters in the civil and criminal arena. Additionally, the field is comprised of extensive research processes, where, as a student, I ought to engage in massive and extensive studies to ensure that I am on course with the emerging trends as well as helping the creation of a pool of knowledge on the legal systems and their functionality across the globe. Therefore, as I partake the graduate program on forensic psychology, I aim at engaging in research, especially my final research paper, assist in guidance and counseling volunteer programs, finish my assignments and projects on time, and finally, work in a court room after graduation.
My main focus is to indulge in research on the forensic psychology fields. This profession is wide and dynamic; thus, it requires constant research on the daily happenings and trends in the law execution process as well as psychological concerns of the inmates or offenders. Therefore, my primary goal will be to keep myself up to date on the recent publications on the subject. My final research project will act as a culmination of my research process, which will lead to the identification of a problem to a major concern in the community and the forensic psychology field. Therefore, engagement in research presents the primary goal during my period in the program.
Additionally, I focus on assisting the society in managing their psychological concerns through voluntary guidance and counseling programs. A significant number of individuals suffer from psychological issues such as depression, stress, and other mental deficiencies. However, due to inadequate knowledge, they do not seek professional help. Therefore, I focus on offering a hand in the school's voluntary guidance and counseling programs which will assist in the process of creating awareness and motivating individuals to undergo counseling sessions.
Moreover, I focus on improving and upholding time management skills during my study period. Time management is a significant virtue of maintaining, especially to assist in the process of achieving the established goals and within the set timelines. This will entail actions such as timely completion and submission of assignments and projects. This target will keep me in check and ensure that I do not lag behind my academic schedule, or conduct my research in a hurry, leading to the generation of mediocre assignment.
Finally, my ultimate goal is to work in a courtroom after the graduation. This will entail the application of the acquired academic and research prowess in an actual civic and law setting. This is a new field in psychology, and its application in the court system is projected to offer immense benefits in the process of evaluating the perpetrator's evidence and determining the accuracy of their statements and evidences. Therefore, my dream is to engage in the courtroom procedures and interrogate the victim, who will allow and facilitate the decision-making process. This will, in turn, represent my first professional achievement and will act as a motivation to pursue other future targets.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I aim at engaging in research, especially my final research paper, assist in guidance and counseling volunteer programs, finish my assignments and projects on time, and finally, work in a courtroom after graduation. Apart from the general academic processes and activities, these will be essential in my career. These will form a part of my short-term goals and focuses, which act as my current driving force and motivation in my academic day to day undertakings and processes.
