Furthermore, the family faces a socio disorder where the two girls who are at their adolescent age seem to be rebellious to their father, and this is causing their relationship with the father to be tensed. This form of behavior is taking place because the girls feel the father has contributed to their mother's present condition, and thus they often ignore him. As a result, Mr. John lacks social support at such a time that his wife is ailing (McClennen, Keys & Day, 2016). Instead of the children's grandmother, Mrs. Green warning the children not to act against their father; she goes ahead and supports what they do, and this may be added to the level of discouragement that Mr. John is having at that moment. Health care access was another factor that affected the family (McClennen, Keys & Day, 2016). Mrs. John was not able to access the required health care services despite her health condition. Also, insurance coverage was not adequate, and this caused the family to incur high medical costs.

As presented, Mr. and Mrs. John are middle-aged parents because they have two adolescent girls. Application of the Health Model to the Family

The Denham model is highly applicable to John's family. Through the model, the health care professional will be able to help the family understand the various changes that are taking place. The members of the family will be able to know what they do, and it triggers them not to eat balanced diets and carry out exercises regularly. Furthermore, when the model is utilized, John's family will be able to appreciate why they need to have a secure emotional connection during this period when the mother of the family is unwell. At the same time, the members of the family will be encouraged to change the actions and behaviors which they have to ensure there is a better connection with each other. Also, the family will get a chance to understand the various social norms and attitudes that are present in their current environment. Thus, they would be able to learn how they can manage them appropriately. Most importantly, the family will get a chance to learn concerning the cancer condition affecting Mrs. John and gain a better understanding of the best form of therapies that can be used to help her cope with the situation.
