Introduction
There is critical interaction between public health and the environment. This interaction impact the standard of life, health differences, and much more. Handling and disposal health care waste policy is a strategy that helps health care members to understand how to dispose materials remain to avoid environmental effects. These materials have a vital effect on the environment, if they are not effectively disposed. Due to lack of effective skills, knowledge, and materials for disposal, the process has stimulated more environmental problems such as pollution (Ziraba, Haregu, & Mberu, 2016). In health care, there are various types of wastes which are required to be disposed in different ways. Different techniques, such as burning are required to destroy these materials. Normally, most materials which are used in hospital tend to be contaminated by various components such as blood. These contaminations expose hazard to other people as they can easily spend some infection. Additionally, plastic materials which are used in to preserve drugs produce toxic substances. For instance, plastic produces a chemical, dioxin, especially when they burn. Therefore, handling and disposing has been critical issues that need to be addressed effectively to avoid other problems.
People who are living near dump sites are the large population which is affected by the issue. Normally, most areas around the dump sites are used for economic activities. Therefore, the production of bad spell affects how people effective visit these areas (Ziraba, Haregu, & Mberu, 2016). Additionally, the waste produces toxin substance which contaminates air and water around the area. Therefore, it becomes hard for the population around the area to effectively use the air and water due to a high concentration of waste. As such, these waste disposals trigger the spread of diseases which affect the quality of life. Children who grow in such area tend to suffer from breathing problems due to the poor quality of air (Thakur & Katoch, 2017). When there is any form of pollution, old and children are the largest population which is affected. These two groups tend to at high risk if exposed to the condition. This is because pollution affects cognitive performance, which impacts their ability to handle issues effectively.
Normally, the issue takes place at the local level. In most parts of rural area, there is a lack of effective application of rules. Hence, people tend to engage in activities which violate the law. Local areas suffer from enough resources so as to deploy effective techniques which may improve the application of handling and disposal health care waste policy (Ferrante et al., 2018). Lack of enough resources affects the number of experts who conduct various disposal mechanism. As such, there are no effective monitoring techniques for disposal of health materials.
There are several ways which government can intervene to address the issue which affecting the policy. Due to the massive usage of materials in hospitals, the government should create a system which has the ability to handle and treat these waste before being released to the environment. This action will help to ensure all materials released in the environment are safe from human health (Ziraba, Haregu, & Mberu, 2016). Additionally, the government should introduce more resources, technologies, and skills in hospitals to guide practitioners on how to dispose materials to prevent negative environmental effects. If consumers were to use the technologies devices at home, they should be given manual guidelines which indicate how a person should operate.
When initiating a policy change, there various steps which stakeholders are supposed to consider. All stakeholders, health practitioners, patients, and government intermediaries such as Medicare and Medicaid First, assessing the current policy to identify major challenges which are affecting its performance. When analyzing the current policy, members involved must review all weaknesses and create ways to improve the performance (Ghasemi & Yusuff, 2016). After the policy has been assessed, members should engage advisory committee so as to give various recommendations based on their perception. These members should now develop a draft for the new policy. In this case, the draft should be simple and clear to avoid confusion (Awodele, Adewoye, & Oparah, 2016). Present the new policy to the parliament so that Congress can effectively discuss. If Congress votes the policy, the president should sign to create a room for implementation. The complexity of a policy is a key factor which determines the budget required for a change.
A health care system is a process which is meant to keep individuals healthy and safe. This technique helps individuals to deploy an effective approach toward their health. Additionally, through the process, people are able to find cures for diseases. As such, the health care system helps individuals to develop more resistance to diseases (Munoz, 2019). This action makes the effective to participate in various actions as they are aware of their safety. As such, people the quality of life has greatly improved due to their ability to use and eat health food materials.
