Teaching is a profession that one needs to do with passion and zeal as it makes me want to teach my students more every passing day. The light bulb effect is one of my best-guiding principle that makes me feel the most pleasure when I teach. Seeing my students understand new concepts that I introduce to them every new day and noticing them smile to show they understand and recognize a concept I taught earlier makes me want to teach the more, and it makes me wake every morning wanting to meet my students every time.
The best feeling is when one of my students or a group of them comes to me and ask for clarification about something they did not understand after I am done with my lesson (Skaalvik & Skaalvik, 2015). Repeating the concept all again to them and asking them to repeat the same question or a similar question, and they get it right makes me feel passionate about teaching, and they motivate me a lot. The little things bring great joy in teaching. I also feel happy when my students come to me and happily tell me about how they applied something I taught, and their parents or friends congratulated them for that (Chesnut & Burley, 2015). It makes me feel happy that I am making a significant impact in my students' lives by imparting knowledge to them and making them ready to be the leaders of the future.
Satisfaction is another factor that makes me feel the utmost pleasure in teaching. When I see that the students are satisfied with my teaching and they love me, I feel great joy in teaching such a class. It gets fantastic when a week comes to an end with little or no complaints about me from a student, and for the little complains that emerge, I work my best to ensure that I work on that negative aspect (Arslan & Karamese, 2018). When there are no complaints from the administration of the school I teach in, I am happy because it shows that I serve the learning institution in line with what they expect from me. It also shows that the guardians of my students are delighted with my work, and it gives me the pleasure I need in my profession.
Getting in class and seeing my students filled with joy to see me and trying their best to participate in the lesson actively without sleeping off makes me enjoy teaching every day (Horvath, Goodell & Kosteas, 2018). This makes me creative in every lesson where I engage the students in different activities that help them build their characters. Passing by a class or in another area in the school and hearing students discuss me positively explaining how nice my last lesson made me happy and proud of my work. I always see my students finish school, pass successfully, and attain excellent grades to move on to the next education level, where they advance their studies (Soibamcha & Pandey, 2016). Seeing my students pass and be able to go to advance their studies to a point where they are successful professionally makes me happy, and I feel the passion of teaching grow in me with every lot of students I teach every day.
Conclusion
Teaching is a great profession which even though some people teach for personal gains like a good salary, some of the teachers do it because it gives them a sense of satisfaction, joy, pride, and pleasure in doing what they love. It is incredible when I see my students understand new concepts every day, get good grades, continue with their education in higher level institutions, and become more successful than I am. This plus the fun of having an active group of students in class gives me the greatest pleasure in teaching.
