New Moves is a program whose goals are to meet the requirements of the adolescent girls who are at risk of becoming obese or those that are overweight. The New Moves states that teenage girls tend to become overweight due to their sedentary lifestyles. The novel includes the principles that guide against the obesity fields and eating disorders. The program tends to give much attention to the behavioral changes of teenage girls rather than also concentrating on weight loss goals (Neumark-Sztainer et al., 2010). Also, the program ensures the adolescent girls have a supportive environment that allows them to discuss their weight-related problems and be physically active. Most adolescent girls tend to use unhealthy control behaviors such as smoking cigarettes, fasting, skipping meals, and taking diet pills to control overweight. Therefore, to promote the effectiveness of the New Moves Program with adolescents, I believe that the program requires a complete overhaul that can help change the behavior and improve development among teenage girls.

The programs which are conducted in school should reciprocate at home environments to avoid overweight teenagers to backslide. Parents who are incorporated into the programs can ensure their children eat healthily and are comfortable. Creating awareness to adolescents and kids who are nearing the adolescent stage can be advised on the impact created by living a sedentary lifestyle. Young children like eating junk foods, which leads to the accumulation of fats, thus leading to overweight. Despite eating junks, adolescents can be encouraged to get involved in workouts, thus reducing future repercussions (Neumark-Sztainer et al., 2010). Therefore, a complete overhaul that leads to improvement in the size, shape, and weight of an adolescent is essential since it helps in avoiding overweight.

Consequently, the program can incorporate more personnel who can take the adolescents girls through the effects of overweight. Education about the impacts of living a sedentary lifestyle can make adolescent changes their behavior and adopt a healthy lifestyle. The personnel can ensure all be adolescents are engaged in the physical education classes, thus promoting physical fitness for every girl. Since the Fit sessions are taught every week, overweight adolescents can be incorporated in more sessions than those with healthy bodies (Neumark-Sztainer et al., 2010). Also, adolescents can be encouraged to share with their physical trainers and parents to allow the dissemination of proper strategies to the affected individuals.

The program can develop social programs where the adolescents can share among themselves the issues they go through in their lives. Most overweight adolescents experience external pressure from the outside environment, thus leading to stress. Whenever the adolescents share their stories, they get to interact and learn how to handle the external forces such as discrimination from others (Neumark-Sztainer et al., 2010). In the social groups, the program can bring in fitness facilitators who get to advise adolescents on the proper way of living. Through sharing, adolescents get to learn and change their behavior based on experiences of other persons. Therefore, social groups will encourage openness and make adolescents gain more knowledge regarding healthy eating habits and avoidance of a sedentary lifestyle.

Therefore, the program requires a complete overhaul that can help change the behavior and improve development among teenage girls. Creating more awareness among the adolescents will enhance their learning abilities and in turn, change their behaviors. Developing programs where adolescents can share their ideas and views with others can help them to handle stress resulting from the outside forces. Through sharing, adolescents get to learn and change their behavior based on experiences of other persons. Therefore, the Moves program can incorporate more strategies that can help in improving the behavior of adolescents and their acquiring more knowledge.
