I have always had a firm belief that I am an objectivist based on most of my actions and decisions. Objectivism is derived from the idea that human value and knowledge are objective. The significant tenets of objectivism are self-interest, reason, capitalism, and reality. Objectivism is regarded as a multi-faced philosophy that focuses on "looking out for yourself" rather than focusing on what is outside. Objectivism is a philosophy that affirms that if practiced correctly, everyone in the world and the world itself would be a better place to live. The common denominator of a happy world is ensuring that all our actions are the ones that emphasize on the greater good. It is important to note that objectivism is against the idea that happiness can be achieved at the expense of others.
Objectivism affirms that the falsehood and the truth are conceptual aspects of knowledge. Objectivists believe that truth is a relationship between reality and consciousness. As a result, truth is regarded as a reality that is conceptually processed by consciousness. A statement can be true for one person and false for another only in situations where there is a radical difference in the perceptual evidence that is available for the two individuals who are not affected by their emotions, whims, subjective processing or mental choices. On the contrary, subjectivism asserts that truth only in mind. The belief that a statement can be true for one person and false for another which is solely dependent on their subjective processing, mental choices or the emotions they have. Subjectivists have the view that the truth only amounts to whatever one believes, and there is nothing like the knowledge of reality but only some sort of experience inside one's own mind.
Morally, I believe that being an objectivist is safer since the main focus is only on the moral facts that are independent of any person's opinion. Objectivism is beneficial for everyone if done right since it could make the world better if we focus on embracing its ideals or reality, reason, self-interest, and capitalism. Reality is an ideal of objectivism that stress that if we think positively, positive things will always come our way. As a result, all the occurrences in life occur in reality, and they are only to be endured since they cannot be changed. The reason is an ideal of objectivism that dictates that individuals should activate their minds to understand the facts that surround their current situations and take the next step based on reason. Choosing reason entails having to reject emotion, any authoritarian guide, and faith in making an objectivist decision.
As an objectivist, self-interest is another ideal of objectivism that I do hold dearly. Objectivism requires people to be selfish in the sense that you pursue happiness as your highest moral aim. The self-interest requires us to follow reason instead of faith to ensure that we have earned genuine self-esteem. Finally, capitalism is an ideal that prioritizes individual freedom and free society of independent thinkers. I have always felt that being an objectivist requires me to face reality with rationality and pursuit of happiness.
I am an objectivist who believes the idea that contradictions do not occur in the real world and we should also be willing to make decisions based on reason and ignoring emotions or faith which may negatively impact the decisions made. As an objectivist, I have always believed that absolute knowledge is only reached through reasoning.
