You may also discover that eating healthy habits could assist you in managing with your busy life demands and be present for the close people in your life who depends on you (pause for five seconds). Today, I am going to explain to you three strategies that you can use to maintain a healthy eating habit in a busy lifestyle: carrying packed lunch, healthy choices of food when in a restaurant, and maintaining balanced nutrition by having a nutritious snack at hand.
Like most things, eating healthy habits starts by one making a responsive choice about mainly changing your approach to food, your emotional link and thoughts behind eating and food respectively. As usual, making something a habit takes a lot of time to build. To help you build better-eating habits, you can start by packing your lunch. The essential and beneficial part about packing your lunch is one; it gives you a chance to make healthier food choices compared to eating out. Most of us confuse the difference between dieting and eating healthy. Just because you decide to make healthy food choices does not conclude ones is restricting calories or on a diet. It simply means you choose to eat an apple rather than a burger. Secondly, a packed lunch is usually less costly than eating in a restaurant. One amongst most roadblocks to healthy eating habits is that eating healthy is expensive (NIDDK, 2018). This can be eliminated by buying your fruits, vegetables, among other healthy diets, prepare and pack them to go, thus saving money. Also, in packing your lunch, you are opened to choosing many convenient, healthy food options. For example, pre-cut veggies, apple sauce, fruit cups, pre-cooked turkey or chicken, among others. Due to busy daily activities, you can prepare your packed lunch the night before for purposes of convenience thus it becomes so easy to exercise healthy eating habits while maintaining a busy lifestyle (Robinson et al. 2019).
The second strategy is making healthy food choices when eating out. For example, instead of fried foods, you can ask for grilled or broiled. Or you can ask the restaurant staff to hold all the fattening sauces such as mayo. Most restaurants, either fast-foods or others incorporate in their menu's healthier food choices, for example, salads, low-carb options, grilled or baked entrees or yoghurts and fruits thus easy to maintain healthy eating exercises. According to Anderson (2019), if you are eating out and the restaurant does not have any healthy food choices or what you want or how you want the food to be prepared, do not be afraid and make a request. Your money your choice, build your preferred plate. Always chose veggies instead of fries as it is pocket-friendly (Robinson et al. 2019). Another strategy that can enable you to maintain healthy eating habits in a busy day is keeping healthy emergency snacks with you, for example, whole-grain cereal bars (protein bar or nut bar), fruit, water (lots of water), or yoghurt smoothies (Robinson et al. 2019). Instead of taking fast food or candy bar when hungry and will be late for dinner or lunch, one of the mentioned healthy snacks can aid you through the day.
Conclusion
