The quadruple aim is a strategic structure of goals that are often used to guide operations at the organizational level. These goals can be employed to pave the way for informed operationalization of a wide range of strategic tasks that can be channeled toward a leveraged approach to service delivery, such as in the healthcare arena. In this approach, healthcare activities such as treatment and prevention of diseases must be aligned with the core goals as improving the health of populations, improving the individuals' experience of care, improving the experience of providing care and alleviating the per capita cost of healthcare. When informatively instituted, the elements of the quadruple aim strategy are viable for addressing the prevalent issue of cybersecurity in healthcare.
Cybersecurity is a serious issue in healthcare owing to the vulnerability of data and organizational infrastructure to access by unauthorized personnel. Hackers have, for instance, portrayed a wide range of dangers on the use of data in healthcare settings to effectively help the managers contain the threat of cybersecurity while pursuing the various organizational strategies for assisting patients with informed sustenance of the standards of services that must be used to guarantee the security of information and data (Fuentes, 2017). Healthcare managers prioritize the use of engagement and inclusion approaches to improving how various limitations to useful utilization of data can be addressed amid the pursuance of the various operational goals under the quadruple aim framework (Walker-Roberts, Hammoudeh, & Dehghantanha, 2018).
Because of the intensifying need for a well-defined systemic approach to the management of healthcare issues, cybersecurity remains a wanting area of operations. The healthcare system has also vastly grown reliable on the use of internet-related technology to pursue various organizational standards in communication and data management (Esin et al., 2015). For example, cloud computing has emerged as a top-performance-enhancement owing to the convenience level that emanates from the capacity to easily communicate and access relevant sets of data due to automation. Recordkeeping in healthcare has been significantly improved to cater for the pending needs and requirements at the healthcare facility level (Esin et al., 2015). It is notably essential to guarantee the use of knowledge and wisdom in decision-making to meet the needs and requirements of the healthcare fraternity and the beneficiaries. The vast use of internet-based technology has made healthcare systems highly susceptible to harmful events such as the cyberattacks to siphon patients' data and hijack drug infusion devices to mine cryptocurrency or task the entire healthcare facility until a ransom is paid (Esin et al., 2015).
Breaches that take place in the healthcare systems are caused by many factual cases such as the act of stealing credentials, tampering with patient information by ill-intentioned inside persons. Key to note, the presence and functioning of data management lead to a call for influential inclusive transformational leadership styles that make it possible to make use of the four objectives in care programs (Havens, Gittell, & Vasey, 2018). According to Angst, Block, D'arcy, and Kelley (2017), healthcare systems that make use of inclusive transformational leadership styles stand better opportunities to execute the right guidelines to professional approaches to healthcare management and service delivery by ensuring the people are empowered and enlightened enough to partake in successful improvement initiatives.
Simply, it is noticeable how significant the quadruple aim strategic approach is preferable to the triple aim strategy. This claim is dependent on the premise that the quadruple aim initiative is considerable of the needs and incentives of the healthcare practitioners and employees. Havens and colleagues (2018) insist that healthcare practices that prioritize the needs and requirements of the patients such as a patient-centered treatment plan can vastly benefit from transformational leadership styles due to the capacity to communicate change and reform the people's flexibilities, skills, and acceptance. It is an informative approach that guarantees the healthcare workforce's awareness and capacity to work well while curbing the issue of cybersecurity through countermeasures (Dames, 2019). For instance, a more significant assortment of cybersecurity wise alerted healthcare facilities make use of transformational leadership styles through mentorship, job enrichment, and employee learning programs that prioritize the empowerment of the fraternity when it comes to matters taking precautions to cybersecurity by complying with the organizational policies and rules on privacy (Celis, 2018).
Also, a continuous learning trend in the organizational culture is easy to institute through adherence to the standardized guidelines to instructional execution and guideline implementation to secure the critical data and electronic gadgets from infestation by malware and theft (Dames, 2019). The use of antiviruses on internet-based platforms and accessing secure online sites (https: //www...) are some of the tactics the employees can be taught through special empowerment programs. A wide range of research works echo and supportively advocate for the focus on the employees while making sure every step is ultimately followed to secure the data and information healthcare organizations rely on to maximize and optimize the effectiveness of treatment and diagnostic services that are tailored toward the needs of patients (Celis, 2018).
Conclusively, cybersecurity remains a growing national issue. Interventions and problem-solving tactics are mostly directed toward educating and generation of knowledge that can make way for informed and successful precautions against the lurking malware (Dames, 2019). These threats can jeopardize the presence and functioning of healthcare facilities. Therefore, inclusive transformational leadership tactics help in informing the fight against cybersecurity in healthcare.
