Introduction
Good health and wellbeing fall third in the sustainable development goals. The government has set up agencies to lobby for the achievement of sustainable health care. For example, Environment Protection Agency (EPA) ensures the chemicals used provide no harm to people's health or the environment. Other measures are also put into place to ensure strategies are in place for the other SDGs are fulfilled as they do interact closely.
Health management in the U.S
The control of USA healthcare is decentralized and involves both government, non-profit, and community-based organizations. The central, state, and local government splits the responsibilities, which ensures the decision making is closer to the citizens. These entities work together to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of healthcare services to the consumers.
Finance Methods Used in Health Care
Health funds usually come from private organizations, federal grants, local and state funds. Consumers make payments through health covers. However, although an America may have health care coverage, they may fail to seek medical help due to the deductible fees they need to pay from their pockets (Green, n.d,). The patients without medical covers have to make personal remittances to receive treatment.
Delivery Method
Both private and government institutions do the delivery of health services in the USA. To access health services, consumers use health covers or personal payments made by the patients personally. Insurance covers can either be private coverage or state and federal government-sponsored. Private coverage is for high-income earners. Federal and state health covers fall into several categories depending on age, physical attributes, occupation, family status, and income. However, some people who lack health covers and money to pay for the services cope without professional health care.
Health Care Delivery Effectiveness on Patients and the Outcomes in the U.S.
With the rising cost of living, accessibility of professional health services has been a challenge to many people who cannot be able to pay for the services. Despite the provision of health covers, many people are unable to access quality healthcare due to ineligibility to qualify for particular services or the disintegrated financing system (World Health Organization, n.d). For instance, the affordable care act (ACA) brought provisions meant to make health care accessible, like lowered costs and provided health coverage to the uninsured (American Nurses Association, 2014). However, the user is still required to co-pay some amount of money before receiving health care service, which is a challenge to many low-income people.
Proposed Health Reforms
The government should incorporate universal health coverage (UHC) as a health cover for low-income consumers. UHC introduction was by the world health organization, and it supports the well-being and provision of excellent health services to all people without them facing severe financial hardships. The adoption of this coverage would solve the problem experienced by many people of having insurance covers but unable to use them due to the money they have to pay first to access healthcare (Green, n.d). UHC would also ensure everybody has access to healthcare, which would lead to equality in accessing health care and eventually result in an effective healthcare system. Such a Strategy aimed at providing better health care would help the stakeholders in ensuring excellent patient outcomes and a reduction in operating costs
