At that time, the book industry was lucrative as many readers opted to spend their time reading, and new readers were coming up. The price offered by the company was also too reasonable to be turned down, thus bringing its market penetration capability to record-breaking exponential growth. In controlling the warehouse, there should be a standard operating procedure which no individual should deviate. The quality and quantity of products in time should, at no instance, not be compromised. Using the four steps in the control process will boost the balance in gaining total control. In establishing performance standards, it is possible to use the experience gained in the company and also the managerial expectations. The next step of measuring the actual performance is through experimentation and data analysis. Comparing actual performance to the standard is obtained though the gaging of the performance is aiming at the goals. Lastly, taking corrective action occurs when things do not go as planned, and thus, there is a need to change the current proceedings.
