Discuss what you see as one of the main problems with the child welfare system in your state. How would you change it? (150 Words)
The main problem facing the child welfare system in the state is inherent in the increasing number of children in need of the services offered by welfare. The high number strains the resources present, yet they are not added to meet the growing demand. As a result, the staff has become insufficient, and the present is overwhelmed by the high number. Financial resources have also been strained, and this has led to increment in the caseloads. The increment in the caseloads implies that justice will be delayed, and children are likely to suffer more than expected. Besides, children experience more extended stay and adverse child permanency outcomes. As the caseloads rise, the case manager workforce becomes unstable, and they are forced to work for extensive hours. Their profession has become extremely difficult and, in some times, life-threatening. The problems can be addressed through sourcing for funding to meet the increased demand.

What do you see as the strengths of TANF? What criticisms do you have? Give your suggestions for improving the program. (150 Words)
The strengths of the TANF include support from the policymakers. This implies that the program can receive much more funding and greater support through legislation. The accomplishment of the mission of the program is of great essence and hence strength. The program has offered support to needy families, and this is high strength.
The criticisms of the TANF program is that it serves only a small number of people rather than being a model for the other assistance programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Hence, the TANF program serves few people and does not support initiatives such as Medicaid and SNAP, which could lead to coverage of an increased number of people. This criticism can be overcome by having the policymakers advocating for increased funding for the program. The findings would help in improving the program and hence enable it to cover other essential service provision.
