Introduction
One works as a State Tested Nursing Assistant in a nursing home in the community. One's job within the health care system includes taking care of the residents living in Assistive Living worksite, including the family members. The roles include taking vitals, bathing, passing meals to rooms, waking up the patients, and also ensuring that everyone has undertaken the medications. One ensures that diversity is achieved by treating all persons and patients coming from different cultures equally. One's supervises patient management, self-care, and the environment is safe, and that holistic medical care is offered by various health care personnel and also the healthcare community. For proper health care in a facility to be achieved, one should ensure that the health care personnel work in teams and that proper health care is provided to the entire community.
Roles
One works as a nurse at a particular nursing home. After the doctor has consulted and diagnosed the patient, the nurse begins to work that includes ensuring the greatness of the client based on emotional, physical wellbeing, cognitive, and also spiritual (Algoso et al., 2018). The nurse also facilitates the wellness of a patient based on communities, individuals' families, and even in health care facilities.
One ensures the hygiene of the patients, such as patients who are bedridden, receive proper bed baths, and that the patients are fed every four hours (Algoso et al., 2018). It will aid in ensuring the patient's wellbeing is achieved.
One plays a role in communicating patients in order to clear any doubt raised. to calm the patient and to ensure that the healing process is achieved ("Healthcare transformation and changing roles for nursing," 2017). Some patients may not be educated; thus, one plays a role in explaining one's diagnosis and also give the patient's family and friends health education to prevent specific health issues that may arise in the future.
As a nurse, one has to ensure the patient's safety that includes confirming medical errors to ensure that the patient receives the right medical treatment and even therapy (Isik & Thabet Jallad, 2019). One also ensures that the patient receives proper care in cases of fall or burns and also to ensure that one's bed has sturdy side rails to prevent future falling off from bed, the nurse safeguards the life of a patient by confirming that the patient's environment is safe and also conducive.
One also plays a role as a health caregiver and also ensure that the community's health care is achieved (Isik & Thabet Jallad, 2019). Patients with different diagnoses require a different approach in terms of medical care, such as a cancer patient requires palliative care that includes monitoring the patient at all times and also ensure that the patient undergoes all therapies to ensure that the patient is well and also seeks spiritual nourishment.
One also encourages diversity in terms of achieving medical care. It includes treating all the patients equally despite one's race, religion, or even culture (Wagner et al., 2019 (Wagner et al., 2019, p. xx)). The nurse teaches the patients about one health and the medications used to manage the health issue and how one will do to ensure that the community is safe from the illness if it is a chronic and communicable type of disease.
One also ensures that the healthcare of the community is achieved. It entails forming awareness groups in order to educate the community and give them a deeper understanding of the disease, how to manage and prevent it from spreading like in the case of the Corona disease (Wagner et al., 2019). The nurse teaches the patients how to wear safety gear, proper handwashing techniques, and also how to achieve competent social distancing.
Conclusion
As a nurse assistant, one should ensure that the patient's health needs are met. It includes ensuring that the patient is attended for throughout and provided for holistic medical care such as; bed turning to prevent bedsores, personal hygiene such as bed baths. The nurse needs to ensure that every person in the community is given proper health care without any form of discrimination based on race, gender, and culture.
