The approach perceives the society to exist in a complex form, but an interconnection of systems, in which every single unit in it takes a role in the functionality of the whole. A common example is the structure of the human body; every single part of the human body contains their neurons and systems that aid in its performance (Coakley, & Pike, 2014). It is the primary theoretical understanding of the structural theory that every part has to perform its task for the general outcome and functionality of the whole system.

Sports in high school also takes a similar channel, because, for any team in the school, there has to be a branch of operating parts, each of the parts functioning at their own for the success of the whole team. Say, for instance, sports like football; there will be various positions for the team, which include the fullbacks, forwards, and the goalkeeper.
