Online dating has increasingly gained fame recently due to growth in technology. Social media has contributed to the new developments in dating, although it takes time for the relationships to flourish compared to contexts where people meet in places like dance floors or coffee shops. The internet has changed the ways people communicate and connect (Murnane 1). People of different ages are using the internet to engage in social relationships, and have been growing. Online dating increased by 36% between 2013 and 2015 demonstrating people are using the internet to enter into relationships. Real-life dating is the best option since it allows the partners to know each other well physically and it is romantic.

Real life dating is the concept where people start relationships with a physical meeting. It is romantic than online dating since the people meet, and see how they bond in real life. The people have the opportunity to learn more about one another and touch, unlike online dating where people see each on other screens not, real life (Johnstone 2). Therefore, it is more romantic than relationships based on monitors. Another benefit of online dating is that it helps to know the real person. It is trust that builds relationships, and lovers can build trust if only they can see each other. Through real-life dating, there is no possibility of developing a wrong identity about the partner; thus building trust compared to online dating.

However, real life dating is not without some challenges. The first one is that it may end up hurting when the partners break, especially if they were friends. It is a normal thing that friends may end up dating, but their friendship will be in jeopardy when they end up breaking each other (Johnstone 1). In some cases, it may be tough for shy people since they cannot express their opinions freely. Nevertheless, people in relationships learn to build trust and get used to one another. Screen relationships do not allow learning more about one another; hindering creation of a lasting relationship.

On the other hand, some people prefer online dating because it is super convenient. It is free to join almost all dating sites, and it connects people from different regions; thus breaking cultural barriers. The internet connects people from different areas (Murnane 2). Also, it helps someone avoid some people they are not comfortable meeting since the relationship is on the screens. There are some cases where people want to date with limited sessions. The internet helps to avoid the pressure of meeting if not comfortable meeting other people. However, online dating can be dangerous since partners can fool each other by creating a false persona.

Therefore, real-life dating is a better option since it creates real-life platforms where people build relationships based on trust and mutual understanding. Links on screens can be deceiving, especially if someone wants to get a lifetime partner (Johnstone 2). As a result, people should understand their objectives of dating then choose the better alternative to search for their partners.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the internet and online dating sites have changed the way people date in society. However, a majority of people still believe that real life dating is the better options since it is romantic and people meet in their real life. However, online dating breaks barriers that hinder relationships like distance and cultural barriers.
