To understand the limitation of resources, we need to first bring to our attention the conditions which our nurses operate under, and how it affects their decision-making process. Therefore, through understanding this idea, we are drawn to the critical condition and pressure that using practitioners operates under. Therefore, nurses are pushed to make the correct decision, irrespective of the limitation of resources in the system. Thus, different concepts can be employed to offers effective services to the patients, despite the limitation of resources in the system.

Among one of the critical tasks carried out by nurses is the real-time monitoring and assessment of the patients and if necessary, initiating interventions to reduce risk or address complications. In healthcare set up with little or limited resources, errors are among the common problems that many nurses, despite their competence and experience, run into. Never the less, despite the possibilities of these errors occurring in unpredicted format, may nurses tend to swipe them under the carpet, hence worsening the situation further. Additionally, the situation may even swell, leading to a more server condition that may even threaten the life of the patient. Therefore, as a nursing practitioner operating in an environment with limited resources, it is essential to report the errors, as they occur, to the superiors, or the supervisors, to ensure that the patient’s condition is out of danger.

Nurses operating in an environment without limited resources take a full-scale advantage of electronic data collection methods that makes it easier for the nurses to go through their patients’ medical history among other necessary data that can be used for treatment purpose. Therefore, nurses are not mandated to keep a full scale of the original data collected from the patient, since it can be resourced from the healthcare computer system, and be disseminated. However, as a nurse, while operating in a healthcare facility, facing a shortage of the electronic data gathering and dissemination systems, it becomes the responsibility of the nurse to collect every piece of data fully, document the data neatly, for other nurses and healthcare practitioners attending to the same patient to follow easily. Therefore, this calls for quickly adjusting to the old-fashioned way of data collection used in the hospital to collect and process patients’ data.

The limitation of resources in healthcare does not necessarily refer to the shortage of assets, but also the limitation of the workforce. Thus, the shortage can result in the slowing of operations and other activities in the healthcare. Therefore, this calls for nurses to fasten their boots and adjust their arsenals for a new unprepared battle, where they can be assigned different duties that do not necessarily match their occupation but are slightly close to their profession. Thus, nursing practitioners should take into consideration, their oath of serving the patient irrespective of their condition, which justifies the field of nursing as calling (Wallace, et al., 2015).

The limitation of resources within healthcare may force the patient to spend more time than anticipated. While the stay progresses, the cost of healthcare also skyrockets, forcing the patient not only to suffer emotionally but have a psychological torcher. Therefore, nurses operating in healthcare systems with scares resources, are forced to help patients relieve their pain faster by providing psychological support. Thus, patients may have a quick recovery and head back home.

While the patient and the family members celebrate the joy of quick recovery, nurses have something to smile about due to their achievement in critical working conditions that are faced with resource limitations. Nurses operating in healthcare facilities with limited resources, adopt to use different techniques of using patients’ psychology, as a tool of providing comfort and company to the patients. Therefore, nurses undertake the journey of talking and providing moral support, which later cements a positive image to the patient, by helping them to endure their epic journey in healthcare.

The quality of healthcare may speak volumes when it comes to the recovery of patients. However, this statement holds fundamental values when comparing the devotion and determination of nurses in improving the healthcare services to patients in a healthcare system with limited resources. As a nurse utilizing different ethical practices helps provide a better quality of services to the patients. Additionally, coordinating with other medical practitioners, in accepting different roles in the healthcare system helps reduce the challenges of resources, which then aids provide patients with better health services. Lastly, small scale healthcare may not have the privilege of using electronic data collecting tools. Therefore, as a nurse, it is essential to take the responsibility of developing a suitable concept of data collection of the patient and hand over to other healthcare professions to help provide sufficient data for patient treatment.
