The Joint Commission (TJC) founded the National Patient Safety Goals (NPGS) in 2002 and announced such initiative in 2003 (Flannery, 2018). Vibrantly, NPGSs programs were formed to help various organizations which are accredited by The Joint Commission, to focus on the high prioritized regions that are prevalently concerned with patient safety. The Joint Commission reinforces operational continuity and improvement by encouraging organizations to upgrade their standards as a routine operational guide. Thus, this paper will explore the high prioritized areas focused by the Joint Commission in aspects like environmental care, physical plant operations to provide for patient safety (Brook, et al., 2018).

Over the past years, there has been prevalent issue arising due to the inefficiency in catering for the patience safety leading the joint commission to engage in a study to scrutinize on the areas that the areas about patient safety like physical plant operations and environmental care (Berwick, eta al., 2018). As a result, the Joint Commission has oriented its survey to look for the solutions to come up with good healthcare conditions. Recently, the NPSG programs have surveyed to study the causes of infection spread due to resistance in multidrug organisms, infection associated with surgical sites and bloodstream infections. Besides, the Joint Commission combines its efforts to reduce existing regulations on medical reconciliation and to eradicate surgical errors (Flannery, 2018).

Subsequently, the joint commission has instigated an expert panel in association with organizational representatives including reps from physical plant operations to prevent the suicidal cases and to cater for safety in all healthcare facilities (Brook, 2018). Similarly, there have been interventions by the joint commission to survey and scrutinize for the right measures in a bid to creating conducive environments to cater to patient safety. To ensure efficient screening of healthcare operations, patient team for Advisory and Safety group coordinate with the Joint Commission to scrutinize environmental challenges that hinder patient safety and care in any healthcare setting. It is during the screening process where various environmental conditions are investigated to propagate for the best healthcare safety and care (Berwick et, al., 2018).

Unequivocally, the joint commission enquires for the inputs from various groups such as organizational providers, specialists, consumers, value-based purchasers. The commission enquires for the processes and procedures that are used by health providers, quality-based service proposers, consumers, physicians and other medical experts, before the best prioritized measure for patient care and safety (Flannery, 2018). Also, the joint commission evaluates the ultimate application of the best measure to ascertain a recommendation of a particular safety measure. The joint commission can reduce infections that are associated with healthcare operational mistakes by improving the facility operations, design and planning. Besides, the joint commission introduces and propagates several methods to assist in accrediting concurrent healthcare organizations in managing energy. Moreover, the combined group helps in avoiding errors by informing healthcare facility directors to focus on capital and accuracy when planning for the plant facilities and equipment (Brook, et al., 2018).

Conclusion

In conclusion, healthcare organizations have to engage in the extensive survey not only for the sake of patients but also for everyone visiting the healthcare organization. Relevantly, having plans for keeping and maintaining environmental care regardless of the expectation of the community. In addressing patient safety, there is a need for assisting organizations to have a more effective plan to curb any resultant disasters hindering patient safety. Vibrantly, the Joint commission incorporates their surveying on the hospital by inspecting hospital rooms, facilities, ambulances and the entire clinic setting.
