Therefore, the use of technology has been critical in gathering patient and health care data that will be used to direct patient care and outcomes.

Firstly, a health care organization uses an electronic health record to capture and store patients' details. The information obtained ensures data is accessible to approved users once required and in an exceedingly secured manner. The system as well gathers patient's details and treatment records (Yontz, 2015). It is attributed to store information like patient's demographics, medical history, vital signs, immunization, laboratory reports, and radiology reports. By capturing these details, work potency is increased by automating information access. From this technique, the generation of patient's medical records with different relevant records becomes easier.

Additionally, there is the use of patient health records allow patients to take control of their health. They have access to their results and can have direct communication with their doctor without having to come into the office continually (Yontz, 2015). It provides anything listed from doctors, including scanned copies of reports received from outside doctors.

Secondly, interoperability is a critical aspect of health care facilities. It enables several healthcare information technologies (HIT) to interpret, analyze, exchange, and effectively utilized data. The transfer of data in health care settings is critical to patients' well-being. This is because it addresses the desire to enhance the quality of care received, financial incentivization, and improving health care efficiency (Hebda & Czar, 2013). A lot of patients receive care from different hospital depending on urgency and their current location. Henceforth, doctors, and nursing practitioners working in the series of clinics need to understand the patients' medical history is as well-known as Continuum of Care.

Technology has been critical in enhancing people's lives. For instance, in health care systems, the use of electronic health records, interoperability, and patient health records helps physicians and nurses to store and retrieve patient data effectively. Additionally, a patient can access their health portals to check on their medical history.
