In any state, healthcare should be excellent. In the united states for the citizens to access good and quality health facilities, there should be well-organized systems. According to the IOM statement Crossing the Quality Chasm (2001b:6), all health care organizations should develop a way to improve health services (Kohrt, pg. 367). as stated in the document health facilities face cost and quality challenges. To make sure that it delivers the united state spends more per capita than any nation in the world. The health care delivery system does not match excellently with other functions of public health. Government delivers health care services to the poor who may not be able to access the private hospitals. For one to access health service, he/she should have insurance cover. The united states use technology in their health services.
As a result, they are making it expensive to get treatment. Financing health care, the authorities entirely depend on three sources. They include people paying directly from their pockets, government insurance and private insurance programs (Kohrt pg. 370). because it is expensive citizens experience some challenges. If one spends a lot on hospital very little is left to save, and also people may end up becoming bankrupt. Management should be there to ensure the smooth running of the health facilities. There exist different management methods depending on the facility; they include, clinic, nursing home and hospital. Each develops its organizational structure. We have system, information, and infrastructure management systems. Managers find it hard to deal with the mounting charges and quality crises.
The authorities should ensure sustainability to cope with the arising challenges in the sector. This will guarantee improvements in the health system (Kohrt, pg. 372). The Affordable Care Act acted as the most recent reform in united state health care. This Act brought complete changes which improved the affordability, quality, and accessibility of health care. Health services should be made readily available to each citizen in the country. Once each citizen can access the services, then it will improve health status in the state.
