Florence is one of the world most known nurses who helped in the Crimean war to significantly reduce the rate of deaths by about 67.7% (Clement, 2018). During her era, most nurses employed her techniques which were contained in her pieces of articles in hospitals to handle several situations or patient cases. However, the world has adopted the newly introduced scientific methods of research to respond to various challenges that occur in the hospital. These methods include the science of observing, collection of data, creating theories in regards to the data collected, doing pilot testing for the suggested mechanisms for dealing with a menace, interpretation and finally presentation or implementation of the data (Patten & Newhart, 2017). Discuss how Research and EBP are Different; Include how you Believe Research Supports EBP for Nursing

The two terms research and EBP are closely related both in the theoretical aspect and practical aspect. The research aims at coming with a new idea or response that is no longer existing, whereas EBP aims at improving or innovating the views obtained from the research. By innovating, EBP aims at finding the existing data and translating it to the best form of evidence that can preferably be used to improve the general process of decision-making between the nurses and patients (Fain, 2017). Nevertheless, EBP cannot work without the primary data available. It is from this concept that the need and how fundamental raw data obtained from research can be understood.

Past Unethical Breach of Research Conduct

One time back, a very funny incidence occurred in the process of one of the nurses distributing health resources for the patients where she was controlling before a shift was done. The nurse was taking almost 30 minutes when serving male patients, whereas she could only take a maximum of 5 minutes with a female patient. It is not understood what the criteria she was using, but the theme of unfairness was predominantly seen in this case. If I were given the same task, I would employ and implement the principle of justice to ensure fairness in the distribution of care, as it is a requirement to improve the general process of decision-making and the rate of patient's recovery (Clement, 2018). The method of offering care to the patients must remain to be fair, just, and equitable.
