The Corona Virus has affected the education sector globally. It resulted in the closure of schools as there was fear that the virus could infect most students and even teachers. Since March, severe restrictions were put in place because of the pandemic, and it was one of the ways of fighting it. The virus made some of the learning institutions change exams and test dates and transfer education online. Although online education is applicable for college and university students, implementing it for elementary, secondary, and primary school kids is difficult. Learning online is also difficult for some university and college students. It is only in school that they get to meet and interact with their fellow students who understand certain subjects well. I believe that the virus uncertainty scared most students as they had not experienced a similar thing before. Furthermore, the pandemic changed the lives of the students as they could not get any money from their parents who lost their jobs, being quarantined, fear to get the diseases, and passing it to other people. Therefore, I believe that the pandemic has highly affected most students.

Most companies across the world sent their workers home due to the pandemic as they could no longer pay them since they were making losses. Some also closed down because, in their businesses, the workers had a high risk of contracting Corona Virus. For instance, where I was working part-time, about 30% of the employees lost their jobs because the employer could not sustain all staff. Apart from job loss, some employers made agreements with the employees to cut their salary by even 70%. It means that employees are ready for any payment as some even end up in non-standard employment. Currently, most struggling families do any type of job even with low wages so they can put food on the table for their families. Also, the restrictions that were put by the government made most firms to close down as some closed temporarily were others permanently.

The society has majorly been affected due to the loss of lives of loved ones. Besides, it has demobilized the economy as some countries and states decided to put a lockdown in restricting further transmission. The pandemic affects all the population segments, especially individuals in social groups, which have vulnerable situations. It has continued to affect individuals, including older people, individuals with disabilities, indigenous persons, youths, and the people living in poverty. Furthermore, the homeless people are at a high risk of getting the disease as they may not get a safe shelter to sleep. Increased xenophobia, few employment opportunities, and limited movement due to the pandemic have affected most communities' livelihood.
