The pluralism and multi-ethnicity in the medical fraternity warrant a new look into the methods of delivery in the field. This article enumerates some of the challenges faced by the nurses as they interact with the patients and the experts from different ethnic backgrounds. According to Henderson, Barker, & Mak (2016), there is an imminent conflict that arises in the when the norms n clinical encounters diverge. This is because different cultures have different ways of expression vies and how they use symbols. Hence, the research suggests that there is the need for the nurses to first understand the norms and cultures of the people they work with to reduce instances of these conflicts. Because different cultures have different ways of understanding wellness and illnesses, the understanding of the same cultures can assist in the intervention methods. The medicine in the western culture primarily aims at the cure. This is different from the family and community-centered cultures where connectedness and reciprocal protection is are the most important virtues. The main aim of this article is to expose this complexity that is common in norms and cultures and the way the nurses can respond to them effectively through learning.

The revolution in the communication technology through the internet is immense and is affecting every social structure, healthcare not exempted. Because of this, there is a reason to suspect that the internet communication may be influencing the empathetic communication between the health professionals and the clients. This article elaborates some of the ways through which the empathetic communication between the health professionals and the clients can remain alive even this age of internet communication where such communication may be in limbo. The reasoning is that there is a significant decline in the face to face communication, which is very necessary for the promotion of empathetic communication. One way of counteracting this challenge is to incorporate objective learning into the nurses' curricula so that they adopt the construction of knowledge rather than just receive it. This should include online learning to allow the nurse encode important electronic signals and emotions of the clients as they interact online.

The best way to support students' learning in this telecommunication age is through the clinicians and the academicians first understanding the needs of their students first. One of the areas in which students still report knowledge gap still exists is the availability of language resources that can assist both the students and the tutors. This study sought to elaborate on the challenges which the health practitioners like nurses, clinicians, and physicians undergo as they interact with people from different cultures. The main method of research was a survey - specifically interview among 19 respondents. There were also five clinical nurses and four nurses. The University of Australia and tertiary hospital provided the purposive sample. Among the challenges that were evident from the study were related to stereotyping, cultural boundaries and the problems of unfamiliarity, prejudice, and problems of understanding other foreign cultures. From these studies, recommendations were developed to assist the nurses in similar challenges counteract the challenges. Among the recommendations were prior education before interacting with another culture.
Aspects of effective communication from the articles
The most significant aspect of effective communication I have learned from the articles if the empathetic communication. Empathetic communication is a purposive communication in which the professional expert listens to the client to understand him/her from the client's own perspective. The main purpose of empathetic communication is for the professional to understand the feelings of the client so that the two can be in the shoes of another. To effectively achieve the empathetic communication, it is important for the communicators to learn the aspects of communications including the body languages and the facial expressions.
According to Henderson, Barker, & Mak (2016), empathic communication is in limbo due to the internet communications. The reason is that many people that communicate over the internet cannot easily see each other and learn one another's body languages. To effectively implement empathetic communication through the internet, I will encourage the communication through multimedia such as video calls. The video calls are more effective than the normal internet message chats where the client and the expert cannot effectively interact. Hence, through video calls, I will be able to see the client and read what exactly he requires from me. When I communicate with my client over the video, I will be able to read the emotions and react professionally. Hence, this is one way through which the internet can improve empathetic communication between us.
The second aspect of effective communication that I have learned is the use of non-verbal communication. The application of nonverbal communication entails the use of symbols and sings. These signs and symbols across the different cultures. According to Henderson, Barker, & Mak (2015), it is important for the professionals to first get some educations about the symbols and other cultural elements before they begin working in the foreign cultures. This way, they can avoid such stresses as stereotype, prejudice, and confusion. Hence, in my strategy, I will ensure that before I start working in any foreign culture, I first get the basic training about the use of symbols and images.
The last aspect of effective communication that I learned is respect. In my dealing with unfamiliar cultures, I will ensure that I respect their cultures and their ways of doing things. This way, I will command respect from the locals and they will unconditionally accept me among them. Lack of respect from my side as a professional may cause rejection from my clients and they may even end up stereotyping me in the course of my work.
