Introduction

In the past few months, coronavirus disease (COVID 19) has become the talk of the town. The death rate is moving at a high rate, while the global economy is highly affected. Additionally, the health care system has highly been broken and continues to be weakened by the disease. The outbreak of the disease is one of the historical problems the world has ever experienced. The world has joined to ensure approaches are set toward committing the crime. Like other citizens, COVID 19 has highly affected my life in both direct and indirect ways. Currently, I live in New York City. This is one of the states that are highly affected by the disease. The high rate of spread around the world is high, which has increased the number of affected individuals. In which, thousands of patients are reported every day (Baud et al., 2020). Due to the condition, the government of America has imposed tough approaches, which have regulated the rate of movement within the city. The high rate of movement has been associated with the highest chance of contracting the disease. As such, we have been separated from family members, friends, and other essential things in life. Most of the living individuals have never witnessed such conditions, and this will become part of their history.

Findings

The spread of COVID 19

Based on the World Health Organization, an individual who has been affected by the disease will experience symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, and breathing challenges (Baud et al., 2020). In some cases, the condition has been associated with the rise of pneumonia, respiratory syndrome, and even death. Additionally, the World Health Organization has stated that the virus mainly spread through droplets that are generated when an infected individual coughs or sneeze (Baud et al., 2020). The disease may also be spread through saliva droplets or any form of discharge that come out of the nose. The virus may attach itself on the surfaces for a particular period, which has made it easier to spread.

In the past few days, there are hundreds of individuals who are dying from the disease every day. According to the Bedford et al. (2020), New York City is the largest infected, with more than 3,000 individuals who have died due to the disease. Throughout the country, there are more than 150,000 reported cases (Bedford et al., 2020). As such, the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, argued the government to allocate more doctors in the state to assist in controlling the condition. Due to the strength of the disease, every person in the city is worried. In which, the state government has highly encouraged a state at home order, which will assist in regulating the movement rate within the country. The condition has limited people from engaging in their daily activities, such as trading.

Additionally, the pandemic has reduced the income rate, thus increasing the rate of poverty within the country. As such, a large number of people are not able to pay their bills. The rate of interaction has highly reduced throughout the country. My five-year-old son is so bored by the current condition, and he keeps asking when the virus will end. Furthermore, the whole country has restricted the movement, and I cannot fly to go and enjoy time with my family. Before any travel, I am required to first go for quarantine for 14 days, which ensures I do not carry any infection to the home country. The condition has made it hard for me to travel from one place to another.

Country Economy

In the past month, most of the restaurants and bars have been closed within the city. In which, a large number of hotel owners and other business have laid off their workers. The city has lost billions through the crackdown. About three million jobs have been lost in the whole country (Bedford et al., 2020). By the end of April, it is estimated that about 10 million individuals will have lost their jobs (Bedford et al., 2020). Due to the low income rate among the families, the government has started the distribution of free food to ensure all people keep surviving.

At the start of the year, the virus did not appear as deadly as it is right now. Most countries across the world had not embraced effective measures to curb the virus. Right now, the corona has become a huge threat to most countries. Most nations are struggling to introduce new approaches, which will assist in controlling the movement of the disease. Furthermore, hospitals have been overcrowded now; governments have been forced to introduce new ways to ensure they can effectively accommodate a large number of patients.

Based on the current statistic, the death rate is so high among older patients. Due to the low immune system, a large number of elderly patients are not able to curb the effect of the disease. Additionally, the disease is becoming critical, especially if a patient is suffering from other chronic diseases. Usually, the most number of elderly people cannot attain better health care. Therefore, they are venerable to problems, and this has increased the rate at which they contract the disease.

Currently, like other people, I have shifted to media, which has become a crucial educative approach to the virus. Every day the World Health Organization has established learning programs, which are meant to assist individuals in understanding more about the virus. Additionally, media has become a crucial source of news. Every person is so interest in understanding how the disease is spread and ways governments and organizations are doing to control. As a way of reducing stress levels, I tend to read and listen to some funny clips.

Conclusion and Recommendation

Coronavirus is one of the critical pandemics that has been experienced in recent history. The high rate of spread has made it hard for the world to control it. The death rate is moving at a high rate, while the global economy is highly affected. Moreover, the health care system has highly been broken and continues to be weakened by the disease. Thousands of people are dying each day in different parts of the world.

I believe through proper collaboration, the world can control the disease. As such, all people should embrace social distance and reduce unnecessary movement, which will increase the rate of contamination. Additionally, the government should ensure continuous spray around the cities, which will assist in killing the virus that has already attached to the surfaces. Through the approach, it will become much easier to control the deadly virus.
