Introduction
Choosing references when writing an annotated bibliography as early preparation for a later research paper is a hurdle to many academicians. This topic is important as it gives an insight on what to consider while deciding the reference to include and those to exclude during writing. Writing an annotated bibliography demands a variety of skills. These may include critical analysis, the ability for one to be concise and precise, as well as do library research. Even so, both professional and non-professional sources give almost the same information. A professional source would also call for professional writing of an annotation. Concise writing of the annotation that gives an insight into the central matter in consideration is critical. It is also important to ensure that one writes various sentences that give information on the credibility of the author. Other requirements may concern a comment on the intended audience as well as a comparison work with some other works that have been cited. Finally, a professional source can explain well how the presented work illuminates the bibliography topic.
Professional sources ensure that the reader notices a compelling work that proves valid research that will be used to back up any arguments and claims within the later research paper. Interest seems to prevail more on professional sources as readers can refer to the citation in the bibliography and look it out later for themselves. For non-professional sources such as Wikipedia, interest would die off immediately. Besides, professional sources tend to inspire the reader more in a way that they would want to double-check the claim and interpretation made. As the foundations for a good annotated bibliography, professional sources encourage a professional conversation and establish the entire work as a valid source.
