Biomedical research in the field of medicine and science for a long time has been a contentious issue on the nature of how it is conducted. Several scholars, organizations, and people have come up with different perspectives on the authenticity and the dignity which the issue is carried out. As a matter of fact, a biomedical research is useful when tested using a specimen. In most cases, specimens that are used are animals which can either be mouse, rats or monkeys. However, scientifically animal research has a pivotal role in advancing and creating scientific knowledge and aids in knowing of variety of diseases.Globally, they have a better quality of life as a result of better treatments and effective medicines due to new inventions in the field of medicine courtesy of the animals which are used and tested to arrive at conclusions (Guerrini, 2016)

Notably, the absence of biomedical research means limited medical knowledge and expertise as well as ineffective hospitals and deaths of people. In spite of that, animal-rights extremists and anti-vivisectionist groups have come forward to oppose the use of animals in biomedical research. According to them, animal and human life is valuable and subjecting any of them to cruel, horrible and painful torture which at times may lead to deaths is unacceptable and a serious violation of their rights. Animals' experimentation is unacceptable, unnecessary and cruel regardless of the benefit or the purpose (Hasin et al., 2015). Therefore, the animal-rights extremist's groups are calling for the abolishment of animal research without withstanding the consequences that come with it. As an alternative to animal experimentation, they are suggesting that, the biomedical community should invest in computer simulations and cell colonies as well as possible use of human volunteers in their experiments (Keyes et al., 2015)

Apparently, if they succeed with the abolishment, it will have serious implications and severe consequences to the scientific research.

As a matter of fact, no responsible scientist would have opted to place an animal to any kind of cruelty if there could be an alternative way of doing it. Conversely, the biomedical scientists' communities believe that animals should be used for research purposes if interventions for diseases are to be reached at, new phenomena in the field of science is discovered and new solutions to the emerging issues in science are to be managed (Guerrini, 2016). However, they suggest that the animal experiments should always be carried out with a lot of ethics. For example, if there's a way a hypothesis can be tested without animal experimentation is applied, then that way should be employed.

Essentially, the lives of animals are equally important to the lives of humans. Animals' rights need also to be protected as they are several bodies and institutions protecting the human rights. Therefore, it calls for an understanding and respect for all the different views expressed by both stakeholders. In my view, the biomedical research institutions should invest heavily in alternative methods for medical research other animal experimentation. Ideally, with the advancement of technology every day, an alternative for substitution can be easily reached at. This is majorly investing in computer simulations for medical research purposes or the use of cell colonies. In situations that the medical research experiments are not horrifying or cruel, then animals can be used or human volunteers to carry out the experimentation (Guerrini, 2016). The management action on the use of computer simulations on experiments will make people value and appreciate animals. They will respect and protect the rights of animals. It will also stabilize the ecosystem as endangered animals used in the research experiments will reproduce and increase in number.
