Introduction
The test is about the artist who was involved in drug abuse, which caused him is social crimes such as killing, hallucination, and abandoning his family. The song is about the artist's confession of what he did the previous day without being aware. Melly was accused of shelling his friends several times as well as staging the scene of the crime to appear similar to a drive-by shooting (Hernandez). He allegedly conscripted the aid from another friend, to lay the scene as well as drive his friend to the hospital for treatment, but he later died of the injuries. The incident invokes a hunting doppelganger: double gruesome deaths cloaked in mystery. The event was thought of as a senseless violence result; nevertheless, upon closer examination, it was due to something more sinister. In the second verse of the song, the artist tells a graphic narration of killing.
The text analyzes the effects of peer pressure and drug abuse. After the artist engaged himself with the peer pressure, they introduced him to drug abuse, and due to hallucinations, he used to commit several crimes unknowingly. It was due to drugs influence he shot his friend, and he did not realize the danger he caused to his life until the following morning when he came into his senses and realized that he committed a murder.
He felt sorry for having done so, and as a result, he started singing confessing his action along with naming the weapons that he used, such as AK 47, but this did not prevent him from being jailed and abandoning his young family (Hernandez). Even though the artist was confessing, the audience could listen to him, but they were supporting the man to be jailed because of committing a murder, something that was illegal in society.
The intended message in this test was to show the society the effects of drug abuse and peer pressure, as well as the consequences. Drugs influence can make someone defend the truth with a lie without knowing the outcome. Even after killing, Melly turned himself in to police and wrote an Instagram claiming that he was innocent. He was claiming of losing his two associates in killing and defended himself from the rumors as well as lies that were flying with the society. Even though he was confessing in his song, he was not able to convince the several individuals on social medial and the locals, but instead, they declared him a rapper guilty. The producer used songs, animations, as well as weapons to pass the message.
Some of the messages being presented in this test include the effects of using illegal weapons such as AK 47 in society. Melly used the gun to shoot his friends, and this became a sand action to the community. Everybody became annoyed to the point of not forgiving him even after saying that he was not aware of what he was doing (Hernandez). It was a sigh of ignorance according to society because even the act of drug abuse was not allowed. As a result, the community said that he had committed two crimes, both for killing and abusing drugs.
Another message is the suffering of the family whereby, after being jailed, his children were left with the mother, only hence mourning the absence of their father. Due to their father's crime, the children were also taken by the police for further investigations. This exposed Melly's mother to great distress with nothing to do to save his son. Also, social media can be misused to deliver the fake message to people, and this can be seen where the artist presented himself to the police and claimed that he was innocent through the fake message he had written earlier on Instagram.
Some of the ideologies that are not presented in the message include ways of helping the community to avoid drug abuse and use of the weapon in society. Even after showing the effects of drug abuse and the use of the guns to the organization, the test did not provide the solution for both acts. Many people may be under the same influence and need attention from the test, but this cannot help them on how to leave their behavior and change to good people in society.
Furthermore, the test does not present how jail can shape the life of an individual. Many people fear that when their criminal children go to prison, they might not change their past behavior or come back home. They fear that due to people undergo in jail, their children might lose their lives hence leaving a gap in society (Hernandez). Even though people experience several difficulties in prison, there are still some advantages there because some change completely positively and become presentable individuals in the family and society as a whole. Additionally, some messages in the text were not clear. For example, when the producer used the frog and a snake in the scene, he did not state the reason for using them.
Alternatively, the test can be interpolated as the effects of stages in life if not dealt with properly. For example, this was a teenager who might be influenced by the adolescent stage. If the influence is not handled with a lot of care, a teenager be exposed to various risks.
My test reading is negotiated. The audience was siding with the artist as he was confessing for killing his friends unknowingly, but they were still convinced that he was a criminal, and he was to face the consequences for what he did.
