The hospitality industry is a multidimensional service industry that includes fields such as lodging, event planning, cruise line and other additional fields in the tourism industry. Human resources, on the other hand, is an organizational department whose function is handling manpower by recruiting, managing and giving direction to the workers of an organization. "The future of human resource management" is an article published by Zachary Totah. It explores the current trends to be incorporated by human resources in 2020, in recruitment and management not only in the hospitality industry but also in other enterprises.

Automation through artificial intelligence (AI) is a topic that has recurred in human resource predictions. It has been analyzed to be quite advantageous in the recruiting process, especially in analyzing bulky and tedious work. It can be relied upon to go over many resumes and applications and perform these tasks quicker than human resource professionals. Artificial intelligence will also be efficient in eliminating human bias or errors that are both conscious and unconscious during the evaluation process of the candidates. However, this has become a subject of debate because it is impossible to eliminate these errors if they have been programmed with algorithms that have a human bias (Totah 1).

There is a new way of work known as the "gig economy". Millennials are adapting to this form that is more flexible to them. This is where employees are no longer working full time within the office setups. Some people have extra hustles away from their day jobs and others are freelancers who are efficient but they work by themselves. It has become a common trend and the sooner the human resource in the hospitality industry and the organization as a whole adapts to this, the more the organization can gain.

The experience employees have with the organization is another trend that has been emphasized over the years and it will still be expected to be incorporated in this new decade, and especially in the hospitality industry, for greater growth. This can be efficiently done by inputting tools and systems that do no limit their employees, and beyond that, respect them and view them as their very first customers. By doing so the firm does not only boost its productivity due to employee motivation, but it also leads to employee loyalty.

Human resource guidance is another trend explored in this article. The human resource is seen as an organization that will not only give prediction analysis to various industries but also as one that will give guidance. This will not only help the hospitality industry and other enterprises to achieve their desired outcomes, but it will also help them to establish a pathway that will eventually help them to achieve these outcomes. This will also help the human resource move from just an industry that describes one that offers solutions.

Conclusion

These predictions by Zachary Totah will ensure a luminous year for both the human resource department and the hospitality industry once they are incorporated. These trends should be embraced by human resources because, in the new future, they promise an easier life for them and their employees as well. Easier for the professionals through the artificial intelligence that helps in the recruiting process and for the employee of the hospitality industry due to the concept of the gig economy and better treatment of employees being put into consideration
