The research done in this article was to compare the impact of elevating the bed of a patient to between thirty and forty-five in the case of ventilation-associated pneumonia (VAP). The research involved 120 participants who were hospitalized in the intensive care unit and were undergoing mechanical ventilation. According to the research, there were significant differences in pressure ulcers observed in terms of ventilation-associated pneumonia, 32.5% in 30 degrees and 20.0% in 45 degrees. The aim of the study to make a comparison on the head elevation of bed to 30 degrees from 45 degrees on incidences of VAP. The researched used grouping method and HOB elevation was measured and recorded using goniometer and the result showed a significant positive change performance for the nursing staff of the 45 degrees elevation than the 30 degrees. The research concludes that the elevation to 45 degrees helped with the prevention of VAP.
