The Type of Change and Innovation, and the Strategies Used By Westport Inc. To Ensure Success
Westport Inc. is one company that finds its roots in the commercialization of the invention of Dr. Phillip Hill. One pivotal strategy used is the art of finding an investor. The birth of Westport Inc. gets ignited by the involvement of businessman David R. Demers who commercialized the idea of the high-pressure direct injector (Osarenkhoe & Fjellstrom, 2017). Another advantage of using such a known investor comes with the influence the investor has on the market. The expertise of Demers shows a remarkable approach to ensure that the developed ideas and products find themselves in the market place.
Westport Inc. developed the right idea at the right time and when it is needed the most. The aspect of clean green energy was in the mind of people during such a period of industrial revolutions. The emission companies had to the environment was significantly felt, and a need to turn to green sustainable energy was a concern as governments strove to ensure clean energy, the idea of reduced combustion of diesel and dual injector system came into existence.

The need for alternative sources of engines that have fewer carbon emissions and became the structural design the managers used to develop Westport Inc. cleanliness in the engine is the solution that has led to the use of greener alternatives. Systems of governance, together with the formed laws and regulations which provide limits to various inventions carried out in research centers, also promote green energy. The merging of natural gas and diesel in the design of the HPDI has also boosted the availability of interests from various motor-vehicle companies (Motavalli, 2014). Natural gas found its relevant work in the engine. The aspect of having an engine with no reduced torque and reduced fuel consumption made it inevitable for companies to use such a wonderful invention.
Lack of information can be a downfall in various undertakings. The art of making sure the invention exists is another appealing strategy used to ensure the Westport Inc. finds success in the unique design of the engine (Motavalli, 2014). The investor, Demer, found it of relevancy to move from local to international scale to make sure the other companies all around Europe also know the design of the engine is in existence and is only provided by the Westport Inc.
