The Westward Expansion involves the collection of different activities that took place in the United States between 1807 and 1910. There were a lot of events that took place, thus influencing the wars that took place during Western Expansion. The laws were also being passed, and therefore wars range differently. There were also infrastructural advancements that involved infrastructure. The paper tries to depict different factors that contributed to Western Expansion. The time that Western Expansion took place was the time of four different decades. The developments also increased in science and technology for critical development and growth for critical infrastructures (Nagy, 2020). There was also sufficient utilization of the essential resources for positive impacts on economic and social structures to be within the community.
The time between 1860 and 1890 involved the Expansion of numerous large cities of Westward. The development of the network railroad, the establishment of territories and states, and better utilization of lands for agriculture. The development of different projects saw the United States of America grow at high economic status. In 1860, eight significant towns grew in population to a number of a greater population due to high urbanization rates. These cities include; Philadelphia, St. Louis, and New York City. Philadelphia and New York had a population that was higher than half a million. Buffalo and Newark also grew, thus creating more resources to be more utilized by the people (Nagy, 2020). Notably, by 1870, the cities were several and therefore had a population of more than five hundred thousand individuals. Also, in 1880, there was a rise of more cities that advanced, for example, Providence and Detroit. The population of New York and Chicago also increased to one million people. In 1890, the population of Philadelphia increased with more than one million individuals, and this led to the advancement and growth of other cities.
In 1860, the railroad networks also grew with advancement concentrating in all the eight cities. The eight cities were connected well and thus grew with more anticipation and zeal. All people became engaged in transportation and logistics through the gapping of transport that was easy. Also, San Francisco developed as an emerging city. The railroad connected the face of the USA that base in Chicago and San Francisco. The railroad became very beneficial for the creation of a network between earlier and recent cities. The Expansion and development of the railroad created the emergence of towns since railroad systems were sophisticated (Hernandez, Carolyn, 2019). Also, by 1860 the agricultural land improved, thus making the cities greener. The improved land for agriculture also advanced, thus advancing the new and previous cities. San Francisco also developed making resources to be more utilized by 1860 and thus created more agricultural land to be put into use.
More so, by 1890, the agricultural practices were sophisticated; thus, more land kept at high in significant States. The recognized territories in the USA were developed and classified to help in giving titles to the landowners. In 1890, the cities also developed, thus making the emergence of lawfully known states. There was also a place that remained unknown on the circumstances of not being booked as either recognized or unrecognized. Food production also increased, and it was one of the significant impacts that led to the Expansion and growth of the USA during Westward Expansion. Food is a basic need for humans, and thus it helps in boosting the population (Hernandez, Carolyn 2019). Food production is associated with a high population since it boosts the high rate of birth since the availability of food products remain essential. There was a fostering of rural-urban movement that tends to make people do more development on their farms. San Francisco advanced faster on the availability of food products that helped people to obtain it cheaply. Food production becomes the primary reason for the emergence of San Francisco.
In summary, Westward Expansion was largely impacted by agricultural Expansion. The railroad networks also developed, making the people be more concentrated. Food production is, therefore, the critical impact of growth to the United States between 1860 and 1890 and thus having to be well advanced as per today's big city of New York.
